76ers/Nets/Thunder

Post#1 » by facothomas22 » Sat May 31, 2025 5:56 pm

76ers out: The 3rd pick in this year's draft
76ers in: The 76ers 2026 or 2027 1st round pick (top 4 protected returned),76ers 2028 1st round pick(top 8 protected returned), 8th pick in this year's draft,19th pick in this year's draft

Nets out: Cam Johnson,8th pick in this year's draft, 76ers 2028 1st round pick(top 8 returned), 19th pick in the draft
Nets in: Isaiah Joe, Dillon Jones, 3rd pick in this year's draft

Thunder out: Isaiah Joe, Dillon Jones, 76ers 2026 or 2027 1st round pick(top 4 protected)
Thunder in: Cam Johnson

Why the 76ers do this: They use the 3rd pick to trade down in order to gain another 1st round pick in this year's draft, while also having full control of their 2026-2028 1st round picks.

Why the Nets do this: They use Cam Johnson, along with the 8th pick and 19th pick in this year's draft in order to move up to get Ace Bailey. They desperate need star level talent and Ace Bailey provides the highest upside out of anyone in this year's draft class outside of Cooper Flagg.

Why the Thunder do this: They are likely going to win the Championship this year, but with trading for Cam Johnson, they could possibly become the NBA's next dynasty team that wins several of championships over the next 3-5 years.

Is it that bad? I would have Joe worth 19. So Cam and a future 1st to move up to 3? Feels like a price I'm very comfortable paying if I believe in a guy.

I think this falls apart with OKC though. Can't see them trading a future pick and Jones to get a taller version of Joe.

And I'm not the guy who loves getting future picks back above all else. Especially not when I've got 3 max contracts attached to win now guys. Even if Embiid barely plays, its unlikely Philly bottoms totally out. They got a gift at 3, I would have to really not believe in anybody to do this.

I dont think Joe is worth 19. What makes him worth so much more than Hauser? i would prefer Hauser over Joe.

I think 8 + 19 + 2028 PHI 1st is enough to move up to 3. asking for 4 assets is too much

Agree re OKC. If they were high on Johnson, they would have traded for him by now. And if they do want him, the price is too steep - could imagine Joe, Jones, and one of their future firsts, but next year's Sixers pick has too much upside for a trade like this. Yes, if the Sixers get healthier it might not even be in the lottery, but there's a decent chance that it's a top-10 pick in a strong draft, and that alone would be worth more than Johnson.

value is fine for OKC but we have money issues. Isaiah Joe is really struggling in the POs and that's why he's barely playing. He should be an amazing player for us comes playoff time because of his 3 pt shooting but he's feeling the pressure way too much and he's a liability on defense. He got benched pretty fast the rare times he played. I like the idea of bringing a guy like Cam Johnson but I don't think we can afford paying him in the start of his last year contract (beginning of Chet/JDub future contract) so this might be only trading for a rental so not ideal at all. I think our FO is fine paying the tax but because of Cam Johnson...probably not

There should be a deal able to be found where OkC sends out more than Cam's salary, and where BKN can keep 19.
