Raptors/Hornets Don't look but its RJ

Still obsessed with Toronto.... sorry godaddy you will hate this, but it makes sense to me.

Josh Green
Grant Williams
#33
26 Better of GSW/DEN 2nd
28 Better of LAC/CHA 2nd

for

RJ Barrett

Raps promote Agbaji to starter which just makes so much more lineup sense, Green and Dick a good match for your bench wings. Williams gives them a much needed backup forward when he returns. Plus a good 2nd now and 2 more best of 2nds. Addition by subtraction to the lineup and some assets.

Hornets just need talent and this costs them very little. Maybe the RJ optimists are right, probably not, but Green and Williams are what they are.

Green wouldnt play over Walter and Williams is a big question mark right now (i suspect we will draft a big as well who will get the forward bench minutes). i dont hate the value presented here but i dont think this is addition by subtraction as you claim; the team is clearly worse on court.

I rather do okogie/green/33 (or future 2nd(s)) to save some money this and next year instead of OP.

The OP doesn't create salary flexibility, an important consideration in potentially moving RJ. Substituting Okogie for Williams helps with that, but actually adds to our excess of wing players. I'd be tempted to make the deal for Nurkic, who can provide a somewhat playable backup centre, along with Jeffries, guaranteed for just enough to make the deal work (about $800k). In this scenario it seems that Charlotte would need to send back more than a couple of 2nds.

i've never liked Barrett as a player personally, but any shot creation is welcome for this team. At the cost of 3 2nds and players that we probably would need 3 2nds to offload? Yeah I'm in but i'd be looking to upgrade Barrett for a more dynamic player at any opportunity.

Seems like an overpay for RJ. I just don't rate him. Why would a team want to acquire him?

Because williams and green are worse and make just as much combined as RJ

I would do it if it was Mark Williams, but otherwise why?

I just don't see the point in trading for flawed players. I'd rather give up more assets and get a player who is actually good.

Have you watched him since he's been traded to the raps? He's basically a budget Bane on offense and 2 years younger. Defense is another story but he's not terrible. He has showed some promise on the raps. I personally wouldn't trade him unless he reverts back to old bad habits when the team stops tanking.

If the Raps did a deal like this, they would want to fill the backup C spot instead.

Keep him then. I wouldn't want him for free if I was trying to win games. He's nothing like Bane.

Not doing this for the Raps. Josh Green and grant Williams are horrid and the picks don;t make up in value.

RJ has turned his game around with the Raptors and worth more than that

I like this deal for both. Josh Green and Grant WIlliams are trash on top of a septic tank. RJ is flawed and way overpaid, but Cha should be happy with such a deal, and Tor gets another pick.
