Sac does this in hopes that Murphy has another level and is a great pairing next to Keegan at the forward spot. They still badly need a point guard, they could use Monk or maybe LaVine + The rest of our picks for Lamelo?

With the Zion news, Murray being out all next year, they start the rebuild. Next sale is Herb Jones. They get 3 1sts for Murphy, including 1 super high upside unprotected Kings 1st with a good chance we miss the playoffs next year.

Miami out: Rozier
Miami in: Demar

Other trades involving this swap typically have Miami kicking in some incentive. Here they get a straight swap. Makes them better this year, and if they still want to go all in for free agency next year, Derozan could be dumped at the deadline to a contender who needs scoring.

3 picks is expensive for Murphy, no? Even with dumping DDR, might be too much of a risk

Three picks is too much. Take out the Sac 26, but then it’s likely a no from the Pels.

This would still leave Sac without a PG and suddenly little means to acquire one.

I mean this is far from the last deal. But I dont see a meaningful pg who is available and even if we get one, that leaves us back to where we were with fox. This team still needs meaningful wings. Keon, Keegan, Murphy are young enough to stick around while we build out a team.

That's way too much for Murphy.

DeRozan should be able to bring something back, whether it’s a lower tier prospect or pick(s), especially if Rozier is the matching salary.

To the Kings fans saying this is too much for murphy.

A year ago Portland traded for deni. He was 23 coming off a 15-7-4 season. They gave #14, a future 1st + a 2nd.

Murphy is 24 coming off a 21-5-4 season.

This is the price to upgrade the forward spot with a long term forward with size. Are you guys not tired of demar derozan, harrison Barnes, trey lyles types trying to fill in?

The mentality that you need to win every deal led to us being in a bottom 5 spot in the league. If murphy can be a top 4 player on a good team (i think he can easily) this is well worth his cost.

The knicks gave 5 1sts for bridges. Again who cares if you slightly overpay. Id rather slightly overpay here, than underpay for 35 year old holiday whose not in his prime and doesnt change our future outlook.

Honestly I just don't think Trey is worth morgaging the entire future. I would rather look at cheaper additions because we have more than one hole on this roster.

Ideally we use DeRozan for a trade to fill a hole and then we use the pick package to fill another hole on the roster.

The Pelicans have no interest in taking on Demar Derozan. The Kings are going need to include a higher quality asset for the Pelicans to consider this.

Fair. I dont think derozan is really filling any holes, i think at best we get some mid depth from him. This pick package doesnt really handcuff us either. We would still have 3 1sts + 4 swaps available to trade. So if a lamelo, Trae, or morant became available we could make a deal.

This to me is best case for a team who wants to build around sabonis and not tank.

That core is a lot of 25ish year olds and sabonis. Length, athleticism, defense, shooting.

Yup. Miami should be including 20, assuming they value DeRozan (I hope they don't), Sacramento should be keeping one of those picks, and Miami's pick should go to the Pelicans (though three first seems insane for Murphy).

That, at least, seems to fix some of the value disparity, but are the Pels or Miami even remotely interested?

You are right the cost of forwards is high. That is why the Kings need to draft some and quit drafting 6-3 or less guards.

You are right the cost of forwards is high. That is why the Kings need to draft some and quit drafting 6-3 or less guards.

We've known this since at least the Mitchell draft. Yet somehow we are sitting here with no actual pgs are on the roster. Monte was a terrorist.

Moving forward this team should just build a real team. Idc where they prioritize getting the players, but balance needs to be the focus. Right now the wing trade market seems more robust than the PG trade market.
