Boston trade: Hauser, 28
Boston receive: 22

Atlanta trade: 22
Atlanta receive: KCP, 16

Orlando trade: KCP, 16
Orlando receive: Hauser, 28

Why for Orlando: upgrade spacing and save money
Why for Boston: save money and move up
Why for Atlanta: KCP is good fit in backcourt next to trae or daniels. Move up in draft for eating the money

Add second(s) as needed

Yes. please. I've pitched the BOS side many times.
Probably feels like another 2nd to ATL from ORL?

I don't hate it as 13 + 16 could get us up in to the top 7 to 10 easily for the right player if we chose to do so. Although 13 and 16 in this draft could net you 2 really talented players as well to add to this young roster.

ORL isn’t going to give a frp to dump their big FA from last year. I’m sure they’d trade KCP, but he’s not damaged goods…certainly not to that extent

Not just a salary dump though, hauser is a better shooter

Seems like awful value for Hauser imo. He's not a guy that would be hard to move if they choose to, a borderline starter on a below market deal has trade value around a 22 pick anyways.

I think ( for me anyway) it depends on who #22 is.
Fleming? I’d do it. But yeah seems Hauser could be worth 22 on his own in some cases. Or Hauser plus a 2026 2nd = 22.
Id sign off on this one though assuming there is a player the Celtics love at 22.

I can understand if there would be heartburn from the Orlando side. Moving from 16-28 seems like a big talent jump in this draft. In a Vacuum Hauser might be worth it, plus the money saving, but if I am in Orlando shoes I would balk.

Why not leave out Orlando.
Atlanta could use Hauser for sure. And I think he fits into a TPE they have.
Hauser for 22 or if Atlanta needs a pick back include 28 and send Boston a 2nd.

Orlando doesn’t do this even without the pick.

The Magic are not in desperate pursuit to get off of KCP as most of the outside world thinks.

However, I would definitely welcome Hauser but this isn’t the trade.

I actually really like this. I know KCP and Hauser values are in much dispute around here which makes it tricky.

But Boston manages to save a ton of real money and move up in the draft in a year they are unlikely to contend without Tatum. This is just good management.

I agree with Johnny that the Magic probably aren't nearly as down on KCP as this board thinks based on his 3-pt shooting being down. But they are now expensive. And the drop off isn't enough to not take that financial savings to give them more flexibility to get that perimeter playmaker they need and they get a cheap locked up shooter back. Again, its good managment.

And the Hawks get a good veteran who would help them while moving up and they have the room under the tax to do this. Again good management.

If I don't focus on trying to argue about exact value in a vacuum of these pieces, and just think is each team better off for making this trade, I come to the conclusion they all are.

Exactly. I think that's the min return, but I'd do it for a set of guys.
You also have to factor in that you save $7M+ in the deal too. That's maybe an additional 2nd in value.
