Heat send DRobinson/JJJ/Jovic/2030 unprotected 1st to Suns (or maybe to OKC, who sends #15 to Suns?)
Heat send Rozier/#20 to Chi
Heat get KD
Bulls send Ayo/Vuc/#45 to Suns
Bulls get Rozier/#20
Suns send KD to Miami
Suns get Vuc/Ayo/DRobinson/JJJ/Jovic/2030 Heat 1st
Suns get 5 playable guys and a good value future 1st. They save some $ too
Bulls get a pick (Beringer or Wolf at #20)
Miami goes with
Herro/Mitchell
Wiggins/Highsmith
KD/Highsmith
Bam/Anderson
Ware/Anderson
Vets will sign in Miami to fill out the bench

Heat wouldn’t do this.
i) It puts them into the luxury tax with only 10–11 players on the roster (assuming 10m for Davion), leaving basically $4M for 4 players under the first apron.
ii) It gives up all roster flexibility, two cheap young players, and two picks as well.
I’d rather have all of that than KD. Yes, the Heat like to go for stars, but they’re not reckless.

Well, a little reckless (see Rozier, Terry) but other than that I agree with the sentiment. I'd cut Phoenix out and do Rozier and 20 for Vuc and Ayo. We could release Robinson and save that $10 million while vastly improving our depth.
Pg: Herro / Mitchell
Sg: Wiggins / Ayo
Sf: Highsmith / Jacquez
Pf: Bam / Jovic
Cc: Ware / Vuc
And, correct me if I'm wrong, we'd still have the flexibility to use our MLE, depending on how much Mitchell resigns for.

They definitely have ways to free up the MLE if they really wanted to. Waiving Duncan saves ~$10M, but that comes with a full ~$10M dead cap hit for them. So if they can find a trade partner willing to take on Duncan and then waive him themselves, that team would take the dead cap hit instead.
Miami wouldn't save the full ~$10M in that case, but depending on the return, they could still shave significant salary and avoid the dead cap hit entirely, opening up more flexibility under the apron and possibly creating room to use the MLE.
Very excited about this offseason, the Heat have a lot of options to get involved in deals and make some nice moves that do not involve KD.

Unless we give up an asset, I don't see how we move Robinson without taking money on. Do we give up our first to free up the full $10 million? We could probably find someone to take Rozier for that and probably free up more space or upgrade him. You're right, there are options. I'm just not sure what the best ones are. I would be very comfortable turning Rozier into useful parts, getting off of Duncan entirely, or maybe both.

This is half right, the guy for Miami is not KD, it's AD

You continue to want to add late picks in this draft so the Bulls have 2 rookies with no path onto the court. Wolf would hardly play behind Collins and Smith. Beringer would be behind Matas and Williams because Billy D is going to use Huerter and/or Giddey plenty at the 3. Trading Vucevic's expiring contract for Rozier's is a backwards move to the backcourt
They will likely have White, Giddey, Ball and Huerter possibly #12 at least, Rozier is a small shooting guard they still have Carter and could bring back either Jones or THT who do more than Rozier for a far lower price. Half the time you're wanting to add defense so sending Ayo out reduces that.

The Suns doesn't make sense in this trade and they will not be interested in that package.
Probably it's a fine trade cutting the Suns.

I beg to differ. AD won't help as he'll be injured. I'd pass on him.

I don't want him, either. I've been quite vocal about that.

I think a Miami lineup of Herro/Wiggins/KD/Bam/Ware is CLEARLY the best in the East next year. Week bench, but they could sign vets
But, the Vuc/Ayo for Rozier/#20 is an option too. Vuc would help Miami, and Ayo is a Heat type guy
Bulls go with
White/Ball
Giddey/Rozier
PWill/Huerter
Matas/#12 (Newell or Fleming)
Collins/JSmith
Deep bench of Carter, Terry, Phillips, #20 (Wolf/Sorber/Beringer)/#45
Still have all of our picks and TONS of 2026 cap space

I would be getting him as salary ballast, not as a long-term or even full-season option. As for KD, I don't see KD doing anything for anyone unless he's the second or third banana. He's fool's gold at this point. Empty stats IMO.
I would be doing this for Ayo and an easier to move Vuc.

I don't think the trade makes Miami much better. Herro had a career year he would have to duplicate.

Semi-OT, but is there any truth to the rumor that Miami is souring on Wiggins/vice versa? I'd love to find a way to bring Wiggs back to the Bay somehow.
