BOS in: Moses Moody, Naji Marshall, Kobe Brown, #41
BOS out: Jrue

GSW in: Gafford
GSW out: Moody, #41

DAL in: Powell, Dunn
DAL out: Gafford, Marshall

LAC in: Jrue
LAC out: Powell, Dunn, Brown

LAC: goes for D/savvy, downgrading some on O from Powell to Jrue now that they have Bogi.
BOS saves $9M gets good young players to reset.
DAL: Gets a defensive PG and scoring
GSW: Gets someone tall. Is that allowed?

Maybe GSW sends a 27 lotto protected pick swap to LAC too???

Why wouldn't BOS cut GSW out?

I don't really understand GSW inclusion here.

I run into the same problem with just about every 4-team trade I propose. "Why isn't Team D cut-out"?

Can't remember if it was the OP or not, but I know one of our prominent Celtics fans isn't a fan of Gafford, and only really wants spacing 5's not rim rollers, so maybe its that.

I think Dallas should do the deal in the OP. Would want to follow up and try and turn Klay into an overpaid backup center, but that's tomorrow's problem.

I get this. I start with a singular idea, then I think oh this team wouldn't value this piece as much as the team trading him so value is getting lost, so I want to rope in a 3rd team who does value that piece to send something else to the first team, and then this quest for perfection makes it tempting to add a 4th team....

I try and remind myself 2 team deals are hard enough. Try to use 3rd teams just for money and if you know you are trading a team a non-ideal piece just acknowledge it and maybe have a suggested follow up.

OP is really good at these big multi-team deals though. Way better than I would be.

I'd send Gafford to ATL and take the money saving, hell, ATL would probabely give 22 for 28...
Nonreason to have Moody on Celtics books IMO...

Yeah I’d rather a direct deal with Clippers or include Dallas if needed.
I like the creativity and a different look at trade ideas though.
I like a simple Jrue to the Clippers, DJJ and Brogdon to the Celtics kind of thing. I start to get confused with 4 team deals lol.

I think this is overrating what LAC would pay for Jrue. I think you get one of Norm or Bogi and then filler. Not good filler like Dunn/DJJ. Slop filler, like Eubanks with his contract picked up.

I added GSW cuz I like Moody's potential, and feel like BOS is good at C.
Take the cost savings and get a young guy on a good contract and an extra asset.

But I do like the ATL version as well.

Yeah, the ATL version is better.

BOS in: Naji Marshall, Kobe Brown, 22
BOS out: Jrue, 28

ATL in: Gafford, 28
ATL out: 22

DAL in: Powell, Dunn
DAL out: Gafford, Marshall

LAC in: Jrue
LAC out: Powell, Dunn, Brown

LAC: goes for D/savvy, downgrading some on O from Powell to Jrue now that they have Bogi.
BOS saves $20.7M and gets a couple good young players.
DAL: Gets a defensive PG and scoring
ATL: Has 13 already, gets a high quality C for dropping 6 spots and $.

Fair. I'd send 32 to LAC in the ATL version, if that helps.

Not me. I do like Gafford quite a bit. But I like flipping him for cost savings/young guy/pick more.

I do think 2-3 is the sweet spot.

But sometimes use the 4th team to convey the follow up deal. But, no reason I can't just leave that part out. Could've just been BOS/DAL/LAC and then separate deal with GSW (later improved to ATL). At least I have so far resisted posting my 5 or more team master plans, lol.

No no no, Golden State has to be in this deal, because reasons. We accept btw.

Talk to me. I’m Joe Dumars with ATL on the other phone. What would you be willing to add to Moody?

Does DAL still do it if they take Eubanks instead of Dunn?

BOS in: Gafford, Marshall
BOS out: Jrue
- $9.0M

DAL in: Powell, Eubanks
DAL out: Gafford, Marshall
+ $1.8M

LAC in: Jrue
LAC out: Powell, Eubanks
+ $7.1M

This is a risky deal to the Mavs. But I can understand the fact that Gafford may want bigger role and contract elsewhere. That's significant guard depth. The Mavs is rather weak in term of smaller backcourt. Kris Dunn and Norman Powell solve some problems. But I think it should be Martin instead of Marshall being sent out. Marshall can guard bigger player like PF, which effectively create more flexibility to dictate lineup. I am more eager to move PJ than Marshall with Flagg in mix. There's a possibility that the spacing issue causes trouble offensively. Both Lively and AD score a lot in paint. So is Flagg. You're better off finding volume shooter, playmaker and passer up front.

I wonder if it works:
AD, Martin and a second to Pelicans
Zion, Hardy to Charlotte
Hert Jones, LaMelo Ball to Mavs

I am more keen on moving AD than Gafford actually.
