GSW get Gafford, Christie

Dallas get Podz, Moody

Couldn't quite work out if this is fair without picks or not. I think an SRP may go to someone.

I think warriors need a big like Gafford. The Moody for Christie swap makes the money work and Podz is there as value. I like the idea of Podz having a bigger on-ball role than her get on GSW.

I don't think Podz can be an on-ball guard in this league, he just lacks the scoring for it, and isn't dynamic enough as a passer, Ws were a lottery team with Steph and Podz and needed Butler to become a PO team, great glue guy though who makes offense and defense better with his smarts and surprisingly very good offensive rebounder, his appeal would be his fit next to Kyrie when he's back.
Moody would add to the logjam of suspect shooting wings with Marshall and Martin, he'd be a pure deadweight on the cap sheet.
Christie weirdly enough has the most utility among them as things stand as POA defender for small and quick guards.
Gafford utility everywhere makes him good option for getting cap relief as Mavs are at the 2nd Apron right now.
For starters, the deal must be changed to be Gafford and one of Marshall/Martin, still, I think Mavs will look for other deals.

Zero reason for Dalals to consider this. Moody just got paid a contract he doesnt deserve and Podz is the poster child for JAG

No real interest from GS either. Christie has a brief hot streak but is still iffy as a rotation guy. Gafford has some value but I think he's not the center type that GS would value that highly - other teams would care more for him.

RealGM has been convinced that the Warriors need a traditional center who lives within three feet of the rim for over a decade. Somehow they haven’t listened, and have won four championships. How rude of them.

If the Warriors made this trade, they would then have to trade Draymond. Otherwise, the two would be crashing into each other constantly.

Somehow the centers the Warriors have played have mostly played within 3 feet of the rim, often to great effect. :D Seems like a weird non sequitor that ignores who the Warriors have actually played. I wonder why they didn't trade Draymond instead of winning titles playing him next to Looney....

But sounds like a deal where both fanbases can see the utility of their guys more than the utility of the other guys. For Dallas this is giving up two rotation guys for one so that one needs to be a clear upgrade. Not sure Podz is enough of one to justify giving up Gafford.

I kind of like the concept of this trade. I think Podz has more value than this though. Gafford was obtained with a bunch of 2nds, he's probably a 25 mpg center and probably doesn't close for us. If Gafford does start, it probably means Dray goes to the bench and lowers his minutes which is good, but Dray is going to close at center. Not sure Max is all that much better than Moody to make up the difference of Podz being a 35 mpg guard who is still improving.

Podz played 25 mpg :D (27 actually but not 35). Gafford also doesn't manage 25.....

But I agree with you here. Gafford isn't enough of a difference maker where GSW should factor him in if they truly see Podz role growing bigger into heavy minute starter. They can find a center of his caliber without having to touch a core guy and they shouldn't dilute value with Moody.

Yea podz really struggled to start the year, but down the stretch and in the playoffs he was playing 35 in must win games.

think a podz based deal for WCJ/25 is more interesting for GSW

Not really. WCJ is someone I'd be interested in, but not at the expense of Podz. We'd also have to "throw in" Hield to make the $ work, which changes the calculus pretty significantly.

Santos or TJD is enough for salary matching if you dont mind hardcapping at 1st apron

I don't think that's right. Podz makes $3.5M, Gui/TJD make less than $2M each. WCJ makes $12M.

next year salary podz + gui = 5.9, WCJ makes 11M

Ah ok, I assumed that since we were talking about including this year's draft pick this deal was happening under the current year numbers.

Either way, I don't think WCJ is worth giving up Podz and hardcapping ourselves at the first apron.

Warriors No. 1 need is shooting, No.2 need is shooting and No.3 need is volume scorer. the trade does not make sense for dubs

Tend to agree. Dallas is getting hosed here.
