Not sure Miami would give up Ware. It really depends on if they believe Ware is the "real deal" or if they'd be cashing in on hype/value built up on what amount to a handful of good games.

I think Riley does this deal, though. And I think he'd pursue Chris Paul aggressively to complete the summer. It'd also be smart for Miami to bring back Alec Burks.

If we give up Ware for KD I'm done with Riley. That's a bridge way too far. He's 37, injury prone, and has ruined every team he's been on since Golden State.

I don’t think Phoenix or Miami would be interested in this. Miami likely overvalues Ware. Phoenix likely undervalues Ware and wouldn’t be very interested. I just can’t see Miami as a realistic KD destination

There are risks to bringing in KD, but Miami probably doesn't have a better shot at any other player that can singularly make Miami a legit contender.

Do you think Ware is or can become that level of a floor raiser? I still think the best-case with Ware is Porzingis/Brook Lopez.

If Miami can acquire Durant without having to move Wiggins, Miami can roll out a gigantic, long lineup: Bam / Jovic / KD / Wiggins / Highsmith. This gives Miami the flexibility to sit Herro if needed without leaving Miami empty in terms of offensive firepower.

I also think that if -- big if -- Riley can convince Chris Paul to sign with Miami, Miami gets a legit 2-year window to win a championship.

There are a few teams that can offer a better package than Miami, but how many of those teams will actually make that offer is up for debate given Durant's age and the massive extension he'll require.

If -- big if -- Phoenix values Ware and thinks he has good upside, Ware/Dunn/Jaquez/#20 is probably as good as Phoenix can do in any other deal upside-wise. Maybe the deal involves Brooklyn with #20 or Jaquez going to Brooklyn in return for Phoenix getting some picks back from Brooklyn. If Phoenix got under the 2nd apron at the same time, that would be about as optimal of a trade for Phoenix as it gets.

Seems pretty reasonable from the Wizards perspective: Smart + #40 for Rozier + #29

I'd like it even more if the Wizards could kick in an extra SRP and move up to #20.

That team doesn't have a window. Durant isn't worth acquiring at this point. Complete fools good. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if Ware turns out to be Shaq or Jon Koncak, I wouldn't give up the potential for Durant at this point...

When thinking of KD & Miami I’m thinking Phoenix would be cool taking back nothing players like Rozier and Robinson if it meant getting Miami’s future picks 5-7 years down the line.

The Heat could justify it by keeping Ware and Wiggins so you’d have enough quality depth to compete in the east.

KD just "led" his team to 36 wins. Everyone seems to still think he's the missing link, even though he hasn't done anything playoff worthy in almost a decade. What am I missing here?

Butler led the Heat to the finals... why couldn't KD do it? The Suns' construction is terrible, without any NBA-caliber centers, without good defenders, nor a good PG, the last time he played for a minimally functional team in the Nets, he was inches away from taking them to the finals and that with his star teammates injured...
If he is such a mediocre player, why would a coherent and functional franchise like the SPURS be interested in him?

First of all, it's only rumored that the spurs are interested, but the spurs have assets to burn. If they screw up by taking him, no harm no foul. For Miami, they have to get it right because they don't have the assets to burn. KD is the wrong choice. He's not durable and that's not going to get better. Miami is in desperate need of a leader - a tone setter. That's not KD. I'm sorry, I see it as a huge mistake.
