New Orleans outgoing

Yves Missi
Jordan Hawkins
Jose Alvarado

Atlanta outgoing

Onyeka Okongwu
#22

New Orleans has been said to like Okongwu and brings in a change of pace 4/5 to fill a position of need. New Orleans gets #22 to replenish depth.

Atlanta has seen how well Dyson Daniels has done and with the hiring of Bryson Graham, brings in more of the guys he's drafted in Missi and Hawkins to see if they can have similar success as Daniels. Alvarado is another player from Bryson's regime in New Orleans.

I don't think Atlanta is wanting to take a step backwards in trading their starting center for a guy who isn't ready to be starting yet.

I wouldn't do it as Atlanta. They give up a starter and a 1st rounder for a bench guard.

This is the thank you trade for Dyson?

Don’t think Atlanta would care much about the Hawkins/Jose for 22 addition and I don’t know if Missi alone is worth OO? So value looks off to me in general, but I’d take out the fluff.

But if Atlanta needs their center rotation to be dirt cheap for 3 years because they added Giannis of KD or Jaylen Brown? Yeah this would make sense as a secondary move. Salary matching, you probably make it part of that deal...

Whether the other center is Capela or they draft Sorber or Queen? Or maybe both those things for a year?

NOP should do any variation of it, which sort of shows it might not be good for the other team.

OO is the most valuable piece. Can you explain why Atlanta is adding a 1st?

Because OP is a Pelicans fan.

OO is ready to take off now that the starting center position is his. This is a silly trade.

OO might take off. Typically players who are good starters don't need a mediocre starting center ahead of them to leave before they can take off.

OO is a solid starting center. Missi may become a starting solid Center, or he might not.

OO didn't need anyone leaving to start, he needed to stay relatively healthy to show his talents. He still has the ability to raise his ceiling a tad bit higher, that's ultimately the two reasons he's a starter in this league.

Well, he already had a really good year last year. Now that Capela is out of the way, his minutes and production should rise accordingly.

OP isplacing a lot of value to the Hawks hiring Bryson Graham from the Pelicans front office, giving him his recently drafted players on his new team. Without the pick #22 seems more reasonable, but I understand Hawks' fans still wouldn't want that.

I do think there could be something with Hawks trading up to #7 if Maluach is there, giving Trae a true lob-threat a level above Okongwu. Something like #7 + Olynyk for #13 + Okongwu.
