RJ Barrett
Coby White

Chicago gets

Cleveland turns garland into a better fit in Barrett and more depth. White can be the super 6th man or start in a pinch

Bulls get ahead of free agency and gets a lotto pick

Raptors bet on Garland being way better as lead guard. They can then pick Danny Wolfe at 22. They can then follow up trading Quickley in a sign and trade for Naz Reid

If the Nets are taking on that salary they are going to need a real first rounder instead of a fake second.

They have no reason to do this favor for free.

Brooklyn almost certainly isn't taking Okoro for free especially not at the start of the off-season like this.
Cleveland can do better than White especially if you saddle them with RJ

It's good for Chicago and absolutely amazing for the Raptors though.

I love how we represent our team logo's in our bio/profile/signature area.

This is a trade about Cleveland having a complex off-season, but you, me and everyone else know the idea of this entire post started with "How can I get Toronto Darius Garland", and then masqueraded all of these other trades in order for your team to acquire the best player.

It's actually a great idea for making trades, but unfortunately that part heavily favoured Toronto.

Dean Wade evaporates into dust. (He's going out from Cleveland but no one's taking him. Chicago is a safe place for him to land.)

Just offloading Okoro doesn't get the Cavs out of the 2nd apron, Mobley got a raise by becoming DPOY/All-NBA. make sure your trade machine has Mobley making the same money as Mitchell. (Fanspo doesn't.)

Adding Wade gets the Cavs under the 2nd apron, but not far enough under to sign minimum contracts. They'll have to make another deal to actually field a team in the fall.

Okoro can just be absorbed into a Chicago trade exception instead of going to Brooklyn. He fits with Agbaji into their LaVine TPE.

-----

That's enough on the structure of the deal; on the merits? I don't like RJ Barrett. High volume, low efficiency. Not worth the contract. I don't mind Coby White but all the defensive questions you had about Garland, you have about White-- and he'll need to be paid, ballooning the Cavs' future salary. The Cavs can't sign Jerome or Merrill, so you've got CPJ, Tyson, and Okeke as the 8th-10th men. Ugh, no.

I think Garland to TOR for Ingram, Toronto owes draft capital (#9? #13 with Atlanta doing its pick breakup thing like in OP?).
Strus for White, CLE owes capital (Tyson?). Not sure Cleveland bothers.

I don't so much mind #13 for White, I think most in CHI believe the Bulls aren't that eager to trade Coby as an expiring when he could have a great year and either get his new contract with the Bulls or even end up as a S&T. Looking at Agbaji's 3 year stat line, he's not as good as Patrick Williams, which I would think is the Bulls' FO opinion, and if you're going to say Agbaji will end up better, well he'll be do a new contract that Williams already has. I don't see the logic in the Bulls adding him.

If the Bulls were to end up at #12 and #13 they'd have to give up somebody at whatever positions they play to get them in games.

If it swings a different way even though everybody around here thinks he's worthless, I'd be glad to find RJ Barrett on the Bulls. If Jevon Carter and/or Dalen Terry help balance the numbers they can move.

For me it would depend on who is available at 9 before i make this move. If Maluach is there i more than likely pull the trigger and go get him.
