CLE/SAC/DAL 3 team trade, Garland to SAC

CLE out Garland (3yrs, avg of 42M), Okoro (2yrs, avg of 11M), Wade (expiring 7M)
CLE in Klay (2yrs, avg of 17M), PJ (expiring 14M), JV (2yrs, avg of 10M, last year TO) Hardy (3yrs, avg of 6M, last year TO), OMax (2yrs avg of 4M, last year TO)

Why for CLE?
CLE turns Garland into multiple pieces. Klay provides 3-point shooting and experience, PJ provides defense and may start along with Mobley, as long-term solution in PF. JV is capable back up C. This may give the path to trade away Allen eventually. Dump Okoro who rarely plays, and replaced with younger and cheaper Hardy/OMax. Overall gives CLE more salary cap flexibility, lower salary and tax penalty, and more rooms to resign Jerome.

Jerome/Mitchell/Strus/Klay/Hunter/PJ/Mobley/Allen/JV is pretty good 9-man rotation in playoff.

SAC out DDR (2yrs, avg of 25M), Monk (3yrs, avg of 20M, last year PO), JV
SAC in Garland, Okoro, Wade, Powell (expiring 4M)

Why for SAC?
SAC rumors to be interested in Garland as long-term solution in PG. Okoro is better defensively, should fit better in SAC. DDR obviously does not fit, while Monk is replaceable after acquiring Garland. Wade/Powell are cheaper and serviceable backup PF/C under expiring contracts.

Carter/Garland/Ellis/LaVine/Okoro/Murray/Wade/Sabonis/Powell as the main rotation

DAL out Klay, PJ, Hardy, Powell, OMax
DAL in DDR, Monk

Why for DAL?
DAL consolidate depth, and turn defense into offense and ball handling.

Irving/Monk/Max/DDR/Caleb/Marshall/Flagg/AD/Lively/Gafford as the main rotation

It’s a yes for Sac. Garland isn’t the type I’d like but the value is there.

This looks horrible for Cleveland. Garland for PJ Washington and Filler, and they include Dean Wade, a useful bench piece.

Cleveland may be looking to move Garland, but if they do, it will be for a difference-making player coming back or higher-end rotation players and picks to reset the cap.

Sacramento needs to give up a couple 1sts here.

Probably a hair too good for Dallas, but this entire trade is workable, which I didn't think was the case after reading Cleveland's part.

CLE Out: Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro (separate deal)
CLE In: Malik Monk, Daniel Gafford, Naji Marshall, 2 1sts (From SAC)

DAL Out: Daniel Gafford, Naji Marshall, Olivier-Maxence Prosper
DAL In: Demar Derozan

SAC Out: Demar Derozan, Malik Monk, 2 1sts
SAC In: Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro, Olivier-Maxence Prosper

Cleveland adds a good back-up Center and two plug-and-play bench pieces in Monk/Marshall
Dallas adds shot creation
Sacramento gets Garland

Come on. The package coming back to Cleveland doesn't even hit nuetral value.

It's an interesting package for someone like Michael Porter Jr.

This is missing a ton of value for Cleveland. But also if Cleveland was giving him away and all Sac is giving up is JV, well guess who would be getting Garland?

But this isn't fixable like this.

The Mavs will not trade Gafford for DeRozan.

Darius Garland is a better player than Monk but I don't think he is 2 1sts and getting Demar for filler better. IF this is the cost for Garland I think I would pass.

Cleveland is giving him a away for free. He is an all-star type player in his mid-20s.

He is going to cost multiple 1sts in terms of raw value

With the idea they want to win... We need to be looking for pgs we can get using some combination of monk, demar, lavine, jv, picks.

This leads me to lamelo more than garland or Trae. But if we were to try for garland.

Monk to Dallas
PJ + Demar + multiple sac picks to cleveland
Garland to sac, okoro to sac using our TPE

Cleveland adds a solid big behind the towers, gets a great 6th man bucket getter in demar. Saves a ton of money for Jerome, and gets draft picks.

Mitchell/Jerome
Strus/Demar
Hunter/tyson
Mobley/wade
Allen/washington

Garland/
Keon/Carter
Lavine/Okoro
Keegan
Sabonis/JV

Still a lot of work to do here.

The Mavericks are the only team that might be interested in trading for DDR on his current contract. Before you get to value, you have to get to willingness.

If Dallas were willing to trade PJ for Demar, Sacramento should just take PJ.

Demar for PJ/Filler

That's the problem with Demar and PJ trades with PJ going to a 3rd team. I also don't think Dallas would trade PJ for Demar, which raises its own issue.

Honestly, there is only very few team that may have the incentives to trade for Garland and his contract. If CLE wont trade with Orlando, then may be SAC is the only reasonable destination.

Teams like talented young offensive PG's. My guess is market is more than 1.5 teams. And if this is all he returns they would keep him.

Agree with most that this has to be a no from CLE.

If you can shape it so PJ goes to SAC with Murray going to CLE, then Wade staying home... starts feeling a lot better.

Makes zero sense for Cle and Dallas. Those players wont return an all star in Garland. And somehow, most of the players Cle is getting in OP is from Dalals, yet the Mavs end up with the trash known as DDR and THJ's mini me Monk.
