Philly - Sac - Dallas part 2

Philly out: PG13, McCain, Eric Gordon
Philly in: LaVine, Washington, 2027 Spurs 1st
Philly fans were clear the last attempt was short. They didn't want to use McCain to be saddled with Grant, and Naji/JV wasn't enough. Point taken. What about LaVine and PJ while still getting a 1st?
Sac out: LaVine, Monk, 27 Spurs 1st
Sac in: PG13, McCain, Martin
Same concept for Sac. Except here we follow this up with maybe Demar to Miami for Rozier/JJJ?
McCain - Keon - PG13 - Keegan - Sabonis
Rozier - Carter - Martin - JJJ - LaRavia - JV
Dallas out: PJ, Martin
Dallas in: Malik Monk, Eric Gordon
Feedback on the last deal was Dallas came out too good. Here they give PJ for Monk which is often discussed. Still have Marshall, Flagg, AD, Lively, Gafford up front.

Kings overpay, Spurs should stay with them IMO.

Still not interested from the Sixers end in moving McCain.
And I don't view PG for LaVine as a value add.

I still don’t want to use McCain like this, but props for listening to feedback and trying to make it work.

This is just bad for the 76ers. Trading a bad contract for another bad contract who's much worse fit is not a solution and adding PJ Washington to a what's likely a late 1st round pick 2 years from not does not make up from the fact that 76ers would be losing a blue chip level prospect in Jared McCain to mainly get off of Paul George contract. I simply do not see a Jared McCain/Paul George combo trade that makes sense for all teams that would be involved. The 76ers are simply not going devalue their high quality assets to get PG off of the team.

So I agree Philly should not be trading him like this. Curious what value you would ascribe to him? Or does it not really matter because Philly shouldn't be trading him at all unless some team does something stupid?

McCain would've been rookie of the year if never suffered a significant injury. He has shown far more in the NBA than he has shown in College. Stephen Castle is the only player that has shown close to as much in last year's draft class as McCain at the NBA level. To me, it would take a very high price for me to feel comfortable about move off of McCain. Maybe 4 unprotected 1st picks and a quality young prospect who's less known? Not saying teams would pay such a high price, however with how much McCain has shown, I feel anything less would be selling relatively low on him. I think it's much more likely that Maxey gets moved than McCain and even he isn't likely to get moved unless the 76ers fully pivot towards a rebuild.

4 unprotected firsts and a good prospect feels wildly unrealistic, but I did ask....

Yeah it is not only unrealistic but unreasonable and unfounded in history.

Kings get significantly worse on the court with this trade. Mccain also does not look a point guard to me, he strikes me as someone like Monk a tweener.

PG to LaVine is a lateral move with worse positional fit IMO (The Sixers wouldn't rate the extra year on the contract at this time. Maybe next summer). So it's McCain for PJ and a 27 Spurs 1st. Nah. He's shown more than that already.
The price on McCain would be higher than any team should pay at this point.
