Milwaukee out: Kuzma, Connaughton, 47, 2026 swap
Milwaukee in: Klay, Martin, Marshall

Boston out: Jrue, 28
Boston in: Connaughton, 44, 47

Dallas out: Klay, Martin, Marshall
Dallas in: Jrue

OKC out: 24, 44
OKC in: 2026 swap rights w/ worse of NOP/MIL 1st

Atlanta out: fake 2nd
Atlanta in: Kuzma, 24, 28

Why for Milwaukee: get 3 rotation players to stay competitive
Why for Boston: huge savings
Why for Dallas: upgrade PG
Why for OKC: roll forward asset
Why for Atlanta: eat bad contract for picks

Take out 28 and send 44, 47 to ATL. Getting 24 and 28 is way too much for eating Kuzma money, imo. I know the counter on the Jrue deal, but just disagree.

Atlanta already has two picks in this draft, both higher than the ones they're getting here. Don't see them taking on the trash that is Kyle Kuzma for that

I struggle to see Atlanta take on Kuzma for 2 mid 2nds in this draft.

He meant 24 + 44 + 47 for eating Kuzma, which i feel is a little light but maybe he is right.

I think losing it is better than Kuzma and picks who would struggle for PT given they're picking two guys prior

Oh I missed that.

I don't think the Hawks would ascribe really any value to those 2nds and I wouldn't want to take on Kuzma as them for just one late 1st. He's not giving them something they don't have just a worse version and not a guy who figures to be a good citizen coming off the bench.

I'd probably opt out even with getting both late 1sts if I'm them. I'd need some sort of future value with upside to mess with Kuzma.

Deal doesn't seem like it needs the Bucks or Thunder though. Boston takes what they want player wise from Dallas and then pays the Hawks as needed to take what they don't want. Thompson with incentive is fine for the Hawks. Martin/Marshall with incentive is fine for the Hawks. These players give them something they can use on the court while still getting incentive.

Now if Boston thinks they don't have to pay anything then it becomes challenging, but I think they have to pay something.

Or just send Marshall to the Kings for 2nds to help pay Atlanta to take Martin or Thompson.

was just trying to reroute the players from dallas to Milwaukee because of their need for wings and thats how it ballooned to 5 teams

too bad Dallas can't benefit from the 26 swap. You could make the tanking Mavs fans happy by having them take Kuz for incentive. But hard to see Dallas end up with a worse pick than the Bucks after that deal lol.

As a BOS fan, I'd cut OKC and ATL out of this deal. There'd need to be follow ups, but I think BOS can find better value elsewhere vs. force feeding them into the matching rules of this one.

Milwaukee out: Kuzma, Connaughton, 47, 2026 swap
Milwaukee in: Klay, Martin, Marshall

Boston out: Jrue
Boston in: Kuzma, Connaughton, 47, 26 swap w/ MIL/NOP

Dallas out: Klay, Martin, Marshall
Dallas in: Jrue

Doesn't really save BOS much money obviously, but I believe it sems them up to do so. Kuzma's smaller deal is easier to trade down for marginal savings and PatC is probably pretty easy to dump on another team.

I struggle to see what exactly Kuzma brings to the Hawks to make it worth paying him over $20 million for the next two seasons.

Maybe I'm just off on how much it costs to eat $43M over 2 years - declining even. And, yeah, he was rough for the Bucks in the playoffs, but he's not as bad as that. I don't see ATL necessarily wanting to do it, but a first and 2 seconds seems like a pretty good deal to me. Make it BKN and other than it being this year's pick, I'd think they'd do that pretty readily.

As for Jrue, if Connaughton was good and we saved that much, 28 is in play. But I think there are other options where we could use Jrue/28 and get back a bench rotation player. Even if the savings isn't quite as much, that seems a better use of the assets.

Whether 2 late firsts is good value for eating $43 over 2 or not, the Hawks are trying to win and make the playoffs and they would prefer to allocate that $43 million on a good player who moreover will not be incredibly unhappy playing behind Jalen Johnson and Risacher. They also need to replace Capela and it would be nice to have a backup PG.

Agree ATL doesn't need or want to be in this. I'd just alter it so MIL keeps Pat and we get Naji

Milwaukee out: Kuzma, 47, 2026 swap
Milwaukee in: Klay, Martin

Boston out: Jrue
Boston in: Kuzma, Marshall, 47, 26 swap w/ MIL/NOP

Dallas out: Klay, Martin, Marshall
Dallas in: Jrue

Then we only have to worry about dumping Kuz, and keep Marshall.

Actually, I take it back, I'd rather just take all of DAL players and not involve MIL either.
Klay and Martin would be easier to work with than Kuzma, imo.

Jrue for Klay, Martin, Marshall

Martin could go to someone's MLE for neutral value - say SAC, DET, ATL. Maybe even get a 2nd back. He's cheap and a good tone setter.
Klay is less money than Kuz to deal with, and positive culture/shooting even if mildly overpaid.
Marshall we keep.

Final one. Bring Bucks back in for Klay

BOS: Jrue for Marhsall, Connaughton, Livingston*, Martin
DAL: Klay, Martin, Marshall for Jrue
MIL: Klay for Connaughton, Livingston*

* Livingston or whatever super-cheap filler

BOS sends Martin to and MLE/TPE somewhere for free / 2nd back.
Saves $11.7M

MIL gets a better shooter by taking on $.
DAL gets Jrue for a price they're willing to do.

Can also add Tillman to DAL to give them another emergency big / save BOS the roster spot.

This is truefully the Jrue trade I'm willing to pull the trigger. I'd add OMax for Pritchard as well. The Mavs is jam upfront while awful at guard. Boston is just the opposite. I could take Tilman as well.
