New Orleans outgoing
Murray
McCollum
#7
Philadelphia outgoing
Embiid
filler
New Orleans bets on Embiid's health and fit with Zion.
Philly resets with #7 and McCollum expiring. Murray May be a long term fit or they let him rebuild his value and trade him later.

Take out #7.
Is there a way to make this work with Murray/Olynyk/Filler?

Besides Hawkins, Alvarado and Boston Jr., the filler are players I'd like to keep. Missi learning behind Embiid is a win.

New Orleans only does this in my dreams.
Could Embiid even pass a trade physical right now? He’s ~8 weeks post-surgery.

No deal without #7.

You guys aren't the ones holding the cards, unfortunately.

We do hold the cards. No need to trade Embiid unless it's worth our while.

You’re right, other teams are just begging to take on Embiid’s contract. Philly holds all the leverage here

I like the idea. It's essentially trading one bad contract for a horrible one,but the horrible one has the potential to be a game changer, thus the 7 pick.
I think PHI would need to throw in #35 though, given the risk of the last 2 years of the Joel contract. It's a lot of money, and 35 gives them a chance to get another cheap rotation piece hopefully.
I like this type of swing for NO given it gets them off of 2 contracts, one being bad, and gamble on being a tough team with a former MVP. I like that Missi and Kelly can play the 5 so Joel can just chill and not have to play more than 50 games.
I like getting another Top 10 pick this year, and another guard in CJ who is a pros pro, and takes a lot of pressure off george. Murray might not be the best, but you can have him as a bench player now, and think that works. Walking out of the draft with Bailey and Maluach would be fantastic, and having another 20-5-5 guy also nice. Murray and George will be off the books by the time the current young guys are up for new deals.
Neither fan base will be happy though. NO won't want to add the 7 pick because of how long and risky that contract is, and PHI fans obviously are expecting an MVP level haul, which isn't happening for Joel

Could you imagine the boom or bust potential of a Zion-Embiid front court? May as well push the chips in for Kawhi too (I kid, I kid).
I don’t think Philly should sell low and New Orleans should be the last team offering assets for Embiid due to their own injury risk.
