Another Monk/PJ deal..

Not going to go well.
I originally had a Caleb/Patrick swap involved instead of Dallas’ low value seconds but liked the idea of opening the taxMLE over keeping 2 seconds..
Dallas: PJ Washington, Klay Thompson, 2 distant seconds
Dallas: Malik Monk
Dallas gets the PJ swap done, while adding a bit extra value to dump Klay and open the taxMLE for Tyus or Tre or CP..
Chicago: Lonzo Ball
Chicago: Klay Thompson, 2 distant seconds from Dallas, and “1-? future seconds from Sac”
Get 3-4 seconds for taking on some extra money the next two years. Klay is a nice floor spacer for Giddey offense.
Sacramento: Malik Monk and 1-2 seconds
Sacramento: Lonzo Ball and PJ Washington
Sacramento takes on 5 million next season, but adds two really good two way players (when healthy).. continue on their path to being the Sabonis Bulls but add defense this time..

Think bulls want to send out huerter instead if they are dealing for klay

PJ for Monk feels like a relatively equal value swap.
Not so sure I like the fit for the Kings though without other moves.
And I don't think this makes sense for the Bulls at all.

Keep saying trades don’t have to solve entire off seasons.. they can do another trade after this as it’s a long offseason? Huerter isn’t becoming any more/less neutral just because Klay is on the roster.
Just play them 24mpg each and they’ll never see the court together. Or 28mpg and you have elite spacing for a couple minutes a game. Neither one actually needs to be a 30 mpg starter.. this isn’t trading for a star PG when you have a star PG.. just a small salary dump to balance rosters.
But I’d love to add a Martin/Huerter swap to the OP but the only value to add is Prosper.

Trades dont have to solve entire off season but it doesn't make snese to make a trade to create a new problem. Huerter and Klay overlaps alot as you said and i disagree you can play them both. Neither can play SF that well (Ball can at least defend SFs) and White/Giddey/Ayo will take remainder of guard minutes. This trades creates a worse jam for Chicago than before imo
I think chicago also prefers 2026 capspace over Klay (and Martin)

If the Mavs has to unload Klay with pick, then just keep Klay.

Klay is also needed, much better to use Hardy and OMax for matching.

The Klay inclusion was just for getting the room to use the taxMLE. If Hardy/Powell accomplish that, the other teams will probably be happy.

it doesn't, pj/hardy/powell for monk/2 min capholds frees up 2.5M only

Think about it this way, who are you getting on TPMLE that can replacr Klay production, especially since the most need on roster would a shooter.

it was a miss if Sac doesn’t like adding Ball. At that point you just go back to figuring out which of Martin/Naji and who gets the seconds.
I thought Ball would be a nice addition for them.

A PG that can run a good enough NBA offense would be the hope. Tyus and CP are the names that come to mind. I think Monk does a lot, but not enough.
But it could be just as easy to dump Martin/Hardy/Prosper and keep Klay.

Is Keon Ellis available?
