Wow. That is a big move. ORL could use his shooting.
Is MEM pivoting to a rebuild?

Added the follow up tweet to the OP.
I like the aggressiveness from Orlando. Great fit with Paolo and Wagner.
Not sure what I think about the price.
Seems like the 26 pick is worst of a number of swaps. The unprotected and lightly protected Magic picks are the ones that concern me.
For Mem, the follow up is important. But they needed to cut some salary to resign JJJ, not sure what that ends up looking like.

Good gracious they were better off getting Poole (can’t believe I said that) for 1/20th the price

I think this may end up being good for both teams depending on what Memphis does next. Love the fit of Bane in Orlando.

Imo that would be subtraction by addition.

Are you not entertained? Nice pickup for Orlando and allows Memphis the opportunity to reshape the roster. Bane was always the most logical of the big 3 that would be flipped.
Now have to waste time watching draft prospect videos for 16.

Love the fit for them if Banchero and Wagner continue to develop as playmakers. If they don’t, Suggs/Bane backcourt might be light on playmaking. So that’s key for them.
The other concern is payroll, especially if Banchero ends up all NBA which has a pretty strong chance of happening IMO if he has a healthy year.
Be interesting to see what they do at C and off the bench over the coming years as they have to work around that payroll crunch.

Bane is solid and should fit well in Orlando, but price feels a bit high. Locking in the Suggs/Bane/Wagner/Banchero core, expensive, need the younger guys to continue to improve if they want to contend.
For Memphis, get good value if you're looking at a bit of a reset.

I like it for both teams. Orlando did overpay, but if you think Banchero is that guy, why not go for it? This is similar to the move Cleveland made for Mitchell, but obviously Mitchell is much better than Bane.

Does this mean Suggs is outbound?

Wow this is awesome for both sides.
For Orlando, they add their big fish and propel Paolo/Wagner/Suggs core into the upper-echelon of the East. Bane is going to be their best player for all +/- reflections and derivatives.
Memphis pivots. They need a better player than Bane since Ja is always hurt.
Maybe Memphis completely rebuilds? Maybe they go big-fish hunting and add a wing with real size instead of Bane.

so not really 4 unprotected, since one is this years and one is the PHX swap pick. and Orlando will be playoff bound for quite awhile. a team many times can buy a pick in the mid-late 20's, so its not a death knell. Still a bit of an overpay.
But a starting lineup of Suggs, Bane, Wagner, Paolo and whoever at center should be a good team.

I think this move pushes Orlando into the 4th spot in the East. If there is a leap for Wagner or Banchero, they can push higher. I think they will be better in a year or two when they inevitably fire their coach.

I like it better for the Magic. A lot of picks but they have a young talented core locked in, and Bane is a serious talent.
For Grizz, trading a young talented player who’s a great fit with Jah and JJJr is confusing.
The value is fine but I don’t understand the direction, feels like they are giving up on contending and will eventually dismantle the team.

This trade should push the Magic into a possible top 3 seed next year if healthy. They now have the shooting and a true 3rd option, which the biggest weakness this team had. However with Suggs and Bane playing the same position, does this mean we are going to see a Jalen Suggs trade at some point soon?
