NYK trades: Mitch Robinson
NYK receives: Donte DiVincenzo
Why for NYK? Reunite the Nova boys, hire Jay Wright, and try to win the championship by bringing the band back together.
==============
MIN trades: Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, Mike Conley
MIN receives: Kevin Durant
Why for MIN? Get Ant his favorite Team USA teammate and let KD chase his ring for one more team.
==============
PHX trades: Kevin Durant
PHX receives: Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, Mike Conley
Why for PHX? Balance out their team by adding Mitch and JR to the frontcourt with Conley providing the needed floor general/veteran leadership they’ve lacked since Chris Paul.

Done yesterday, but I think that Phoenix can do better. Even in the event that Minnesota kicks in Draft value, I think that other teams hold an advantage over Minnesota with their assets.
That said, I think that this is a creative way to balance out the trade for them!

If Desmond Bane just went for five first round picks, then there is no way in earth Durant would go for this. Package would have to include multiple picks as well

Well if Bane went for 5, Randle is worth 2-3 and Mitchell is worth 0.5-1.

Not at all comparable. Desmond Bane is a twenty-seven year-old who is locked up for four seasons (no options) on a 25% max. Kevin Durant is a thirty-seven year-old who is on an expiring contract who (should he be extended for two seasons) is on a 35% max.
Beyond this, the players that Phoenix would be getting back in this trade are better, and there wasn’t the soft-restriction of Kevin Durant’s preferences for Memphis.
I am in the camp that this value is a bit soft for Phoenix, but generally, trades can’t be compared 1-to-1 value-wise.

As a Knicks fan who saw the difference in when Mitch was on/off the court... we can't part with him. Also we have a surfeit of lil guards under 6'4" (Hart, Brunson, Kolek, McBride, also can keep Shamet and Payne). Adding Donte when we don't have any real size on the roster is a misstep. I believe in getting Donte back, but not this particular way.
Suns angle: honestly makes them better, but to what end? Just sign Thibs at that point to be the HC and let him stubborn that team to the 2nd round.

yeah Desmond Bane doesn't set the market for totally unrelated players but unfortunately we are going to have a bunch of posters using it to justify their already sky high expectations for their players.

lol yeah right like you even believe that. You’re kidding yourself if you think that didn’t affect the market. KD is a top 15 player who can win you playoff games. Bane is not. I get that Bane is far younger and may even be worth more, but the point is if Bane is worth 5, KD is certainly worth more than 1. Unless you are arguing Bane is 5 times better than KD, which I assume you are not

You two need to be far more realistic about the trade market. Teams don’t just give Star players away to your favorite teams for pennies on the dollar. The NBA isn’t a charity

I don't think the Timberwolves have the assets to get Kevin Durant without including Jaden McDaniels. KD is more valuable than Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson is simply productive salary filler that doesn't hold meaningful value until he can prove that he can stay healthy for significant periods of time.

Suns should never have Randle on the roster. His name coming up should end conversations. So I don't see Minny having the correct assets. Is there ANY team in the league that might be happy/Willing to have Julius? If do, who? What are thier tradable assets?

IMO Randle is a great fit for the Suns. They desperately need more physical players and his playmaking from the PF spot helps a Suns team that's probably still going to be limited at PG. Even if you're worried that he's not so hot in the playoffs (and he was generally fine this year) that only is an issue if Phoenix manages to get to the playoffs which would already feel like a win.
I think Suns fans are going to be disappointed in the return for KD. He wasn't that good last year (very poor on defense) and while at least some of that is due to the terrible chemistry/vibes with the Suns some is probably due to age. He's also so expensive that just matching salaries causes teams to lose depth (in most cases). This is especially true if they're just counting 1st round picks as the return value as the Suns will likely be more interested in getting useful players back rather than picks and overpaid/dead money.

Randle is as good as it gets for the Suns in a return for KD.
Within 48 hours KD will be a Timberwolf and Randle will be a Helios.

This is the completely wrong direction for us. We should be trading a guard for a Mitch backup*, not trading the one rim protector we have for yet another guard.
*I love Deuce, but if we could flip him for someone like Bitadze, I’d leap at the opportunity

really? I'm not so sure about that. The Knicks desperately need a SG, someone who will not hesitate to pull up from 3. Deuce filled that role last year and while overall he was a positive player, some of those 3 point looks were just poor shots.
With the 2nd apron hardcap, the Knicks transactions need to be looked at in a vacuum. Is there a Deuce plus assets available for a Center to fill the Mitch role? Is there a Center who would take the TPMLE?
Need to understand the full landscape, but def wouldnt say definitively that this is the wrong direction.

Our offense ranked 5th in the regular season. Our postseason ranking dropped but we faced two top 10 regular season defenses and I hesitate to say our offense was the problem against Indy. Our defense OTOH, was 13th in the regular season even with Mitch giving us 15ish games...and couldn't keep the clamps on the pacers when we needed to.
We need to move to the double bigs full time...and that means treating Karl like Julius and finally replacing iHart.
As for what we cna do with TPMLE, the guard & wing options are way more interesting than the center options unless I'm missing somebody.
