Suns hit "edit undo" PHX/POR

Suns get Ayton, Grant, Simons
Blazers get Durant, Beal
Why for PHX:
No picks in/out
Use Durant value to clear Beal NTC. They cut enough salary here to be below 2nd apron. In terms of long term (past the coming season) cap impact, they turn one year of Beal at 50sih mil into two years 60ish mil for Grant.
Ayton/Richards
Grant/Bol
Allen/Oneal
Booker/Martin
Simons/TBD
May as well bring back Mike D'Antoni, but one this is for sure, this team can score.
Could expand the concept to include Ayton for KP, but I figure someone has to get rebounds. Also ruins the fun of the trade.
Why for Portland:
Durant gives instant credibility. Already have 3 centers to play next to him, Deni is good. Young players than can play alongside or off the bench.
Clingan/Williams/Reath
Durant/Camara
Deni/Rupart
Sharpe/Beal
Scoot/Thybulle
Yes there is some serious youth here, but if Sharpe is a bonafide guy, this team could take off like his vertical.

Terrible for PHX, Beal = Grant, this values KD as Ayton/Simons which is at least 2 1sts short

A thousand times no for POR.
Let us fail our own way.

Beal has a NTC but you didn't provide any reasons why he agrees. You need to do so because he has agency here.

I don't think the trade makes sense for either team to be honest.
The Blazers add a player who isn't exactly at a position of need with Avdija and Camara looking solid, and replace Simons with Beal who will likely not wave his NTC if he doesn't start ahead of Sharpe. Dumbing Ayton is good as they have more suitable options.
For the Suns, they basically swap bad contracts, but personally I'd perfect Beal because he expires a year earlier and is the better player. The Suns will have a ton of cap space in two years. Apparently Booker was consulted on sending Ayton out of town, which if true means bringing him back is probably not going to sit well with him.
Suns should focus on a two year reset, if they can do a deal with Houston that brings back '27, and can reroute a player they're receiving in return for '26 from Memphis - they can do a two year mini rebuild and they'll hit the' 27 season in a pretty good position.

Agree this makes no sense for either team. The only good thing is Portland could flip Durant for something, but then they're stuck with Beal. I don't not see Beal waiving his no trade clause to go to Portland.

I love this for Portland. I would move Grant for Beal straight up to shave a year. I like KD as a stopgap #1 option who can help the kids season in the playoffs.

It you're trading for KD then you're in win-now mode. Taking on Beal at the same time is a huge problem for such a move.

A rare Durant to Portland trade I would accept.

Interesting to see such polarized views from Stumptown.

Gets off Grant’s long contract, guarantees we don’t extend Simons or Ayton, and may even have a fun year of a Durant rental. Then we can maybe trade Durant by the trade deadline. End result becomes maybe a 1st for Durant and off Grant early. Beal is even easier to palette with Simons gone.
Until a potential Durant follow up:
Scoot/#11 (Jaku or Egor)
Sharpe/Beal
Durant/Camara
Deni/Camara
Clingan/Rob/Reath
Still have all of our future firsts
Another way of viewing it:
We are “sacrificing” Ayton to swap Simons and Grant for Durant and Beal.

The simplest reason it's no for PHO is, why do they want to end up starting 3 Traiblazers that haven't gotten their team out of the lottery?
Let Durant's people come up with something better

Looks like a first round out.
Would rather make a move for the future, not that Beal would waive his NTC to go to POR regardless.
How does a phony star like Beal even have an NTC?

The issue being the guys PDX is sending out dont have 'trade for the future' value. Grants deal stinks, Ayton and Simons are expiring but dont carry much value.
We get KD for a PO run (Which the FO clearly wants).
We shave a year from Grants deal but the cost is a higher AV for Beal (And its not my money so who cares)
Its a fantastic trade for PDX but PHX would have no interest.
