New Orleans outgoing

Dejounte Murray
#7
#23

Utah outgoing

Collin Sexton
Jordan Clarkson
#21

New Orleans adds a point guard that may be apart of the future with us. Clarkson is needed bench scoring and may start in some spots. #21 will be used on bpa.

Utah waits a year on Murray to keep or trade later. They can use #7 and #23 on someone they like or combine #5, #7 and #23 to move into the top 2 and bring Dylan Harper to Utah.

You’re a Pels fan? This seems terrible for them.

Too much to move Murray?

I would expect New Orleans to want to pull John Collins out of this too.

Utah probably prefers future draft capital to more picks this year IF they are willing to absorb Murray.

I don't get it. #7 seems way to high for Collin Sexton plus 2 spots in the 20s. Plus neither player the Pels get back is a point guard. Also, they are UFA at the end of the year.

Sexton isn't a point guard?

He is a combo-guard. His game management has improved, but no one will mistake him for an elite game manager. I think if you have additional playmaking at other positions he is fine starting at the 1, but he is similar to CJ in that respect.

Utah quickly agrees, but NOP shouldn't offer this. Have them keep #23 and it's much closer.

Also, obvious yes for Utah. You could take out #23 and add a future first (say, 2nd best of 2027 or 2029 MIN/CLE/UTA 1st) and I would still say yes.
