JJJ

I don’t think the Grizzlies are even taking calls on him, but packages like the 2 below would be hard to turn down.

Rockets
JJJ/16
Amen/FVV/10

JJJ would theoretically fit like a glove with Sengun. Houston is probably to on love with Amen to do this though, and rightfully so. I just wish there was a way for us to get Amen.

Spurs
JJJ/Phoenix 1st next year/16/Vince Williams
Castle/2/whichever contract needs to be involved(Barnes, Johnson)

Again, probably too rich for SA but they’d have two top 5 defenders who are mobile and can space the floor for Fox and co. Would have a chance at a premium prospect with the Phoenix 1st next year.

I doubt he gets moved but it would take a premium young player and some type of draft compensation to pry him loose.
Don’t let the 1 year fool you, he would re up either prior to the trade or have discussions with the new team prior to the deal.

JJJ is worth a lot.

JJJ isn’t worth these asks imo.

Yeah, those proposals will be hard to turn down because for that to happen they'd have to be made first, and they wont. Seriously, if you don't want to deal a player, why propose unrealistic packages knowing they have no chance of happening?

Once again, these are Giannis offers, not JJJ offers.

Houston could build a enticing package for JJJ and easily overpay if they wanted. But it wouldn't include Amen.

I think 2 for JJJ is a fair offer. I don't think Castle would need to be in that package. Maybe something small added depending on the contracts coming back.

Agree. Amen isn't a throw in. A Houston offer of something like FVV and 4 or 5 of non-lotto picks sounds closer

The Rockets are not trading Amen Thompson unless it's for a Giannis/Jokic level player. This trade simply isn't realistic.

What?
SAS #2 + 3 future 1sts
There is nothing enticing beyond Amen Houston can offer for JJJ.

I don't think we would trade JJJ for only picks that would be for sure non-lottery picks. It would have to include a least some decent changes of lottery success on some of the picks. Amen was not treated as a throw in at all here btw. Houston would just choose to pay for JJJ in a different way if they want him.

Depends what they put of the table. They might choose to could spin off Sengun to a 3rd team for some interesting assets and have future picks with swaps that they could offer the best of options on that have a good shot of being lottery picks. I think they can easily put forward a interesting offer if we were resigned to trading JJJ.

I don’t see it that way. You are speaking about the Bane level return.

As others have said, I have Amen worth more than JJJ. I remember seeing a Jaylen Brown deal for Amen a while back and even as a Celtics fan I didn’t think it was realistic. Amen’s ceiling is just insane because he already looks like an elite defender with high-level ball handling, playmaking, and rebounding. If he sorts out his jump shot (I understand it’s a big if), he’ll be the best player on the Rockets within a year or 2.

I’d use the same argument for Castle but to a lesser extent. Teams just don’t trade reining rookies of the year even if it was in an underwhelming class. I’ve got Castle worth more than #2 with #2 being enough value to get JJJ.

This offer is missing at least three unprotected FRPs to be taken serious

JJJ doesn’t have that level of value.

I want Ja in Houston not JJJ. Eason and Jabari are solid at pf.
I think SA should send 2, Barnes, Keldon and 14 for jjj and Clarke. Seems like win win.

If Memphis is doing this, they should want picks. 10, best two of 2027 phx/bkn/hou. Those picks are probably high lottery.

JJJ doesn’t have that level of value.

You´re offering a late lottery pick, a future late 1st round pick and two disappointing young players for a perennial DPOY, 20ppg, all-star, entering his prime. Five picks is about right.

Jabari and Redd aren't disappointing.

Have they performed at the top-3 draft level?

They are on thier way.

I wouldn't trade either for 3 in this draft.
