How to Get Quickley to SAC?

I’ve been a big fan of Quickley for some time now, and I’m seeing a lot of rumors between TOR and SAC lately. I don’t have a good pulse on what TOR wants, what they’re looking to do, how they view Quickley, etc.

I’m just curious if there is a potential path for the Kings to acquire Quickley and what that trade might look like? Any ideas, TOR fans (or other fans)?

dont see a match with Sacramento. We need IQ's shooting just as much/if not more than you

He's worth more to the Raps than hes worth which makes a deal tough unless the Kings want to overpay which they should not do. Not sure he's much of an upgrade to Monk and with that contract I'm confident he's less valuable.

Monk's role is reduced after they acquired Lavine. IQ is better off ball/3 pt shooter and a better defender than Monk. Less valuable as you said but would be a significant upgrade on court for them

Raps are giving it the old college try this season, don't see them trading Quickly unless they somehow are getting an even better PG back. Find the 3rd team selling a PG and figure it out from there. I don't think you will find anything that is going to work unless Sac is offering more value for Quickly than they should at this point in time to pay for the bulk of the even better PG going to Toronto. Sac would just go for the better PG at that point.

I dont see the point of another combo guard, especially one that makes that much. If for some dumb reason Toronto wanted demar or lavine sure, but they won't so it doesnt make sense.

Yeah I kind of figured that.

My hope would be to add him to Sabonis, but I feel like Sabonis would have to be sent out to make it even somewhat feasible, but then TOR would have to send out Poeltl as well.

You just indirectly highlighted why SAC and TOR are bad trading partners because of TOR's unbalanced roster. Poeltl is TOR's only C, and the only guy behind him started last season in the GLeague. IQ is a combo guard starting, and the only real PG on the roster is Shead, and undersized 2024 SRP who projects as a career backup. There's just no way to trade either Poeltl or IQ and improve the balance of TOR's roster.

I figured Quickley with 4/$130M left on his deal (which I felt was an overpay) after missing almost a year would be seen as solidly negative value. Unless the Spurs gave up Vassell and KJ (whose contracts I don’t love either) I can’t see what type of deal would make sense.

I mean would you call Fox a combo guard? I have Quickley being our PG.

IQ and Barrett for DDR, Monk, and Jonas V? Feels like a bit of a lateral move both ways.

DDV and Monk are terrible fits with our starting lineup. That makes raptors much worse

Yeah I am not sure I see a reunion between the raptors and Demar. Jonas V even seems like a stretch. The Raptors are not giving away their starting PG without getting some sort of replacement I would imagine

IQ feels much more similar to Monk than he does Fox. We saw how that looked when he was cast as a full time pg.

IQ looked fine when cast as a full time PG..

I would trade IQ for Monk with the quickness if I was the Raptors. All of Monk, Ingram, and Barnes can run an offense some and Monk, unlike IQ, can beat his man off the dribble.

I'd disagree. But even if you think that's the case, Raptors also had a point forward type in Scottie Barnes next to him. Kings don't have that guy to rely on.

you need spacers next to them and adding monk is just creating the same redundancy that is on the kings now

Someone has to be able to force a rotation. Maybe that's Ingram.

I usually land in SFO and drive, don't bother waiting for connecting flight, I do need to clear customs though, you may prefer otherwise if you fly domestically.
