Brooklyn trade: Johnson, 36
Brooklyn receive: Grant, 11
Portland trade: Grant, 11
Portland receive: DeRozan, 36, SAS 2027 1st
Sacramento trade: Derozan, SAS 2027 1st
Sacramento receive: Johnson
Why for Brooklyn: take on bad salary for a lotto pick (rumor they offered green/10 for cam/19, grant is worse than green so made it 36 instead)
Why for Portland: Add a vet mentor for sharpe/scoot, save bunch of money and roll over their pick
Why for Sacramento: roster balance

Re: Brooklyn - Portland - Sacramento
POR is not giving up a lotto pick to move Grant. POR needs a shot at high end talent from the draft more than salary relief, late picks and DDR.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Right now SAS have one good player whose archetype has shaky health history, assigning low value to that pick is very premature.
I have this deal as too god for POR, I don't see much gap between 11 and SAS 27, but massive gap between DDR and Grant.

Defense wins draft lotteries!

I think Castle, Fox, Harper, and a collection of 1sts that they are rumored to want to package for a win now player gives them more than just one good player for when we are talking about a draft a couple years away.

not bad for nets, but not sure they'd do it depending on what else is out there for CJ. it is possible he can bring back a pick in the 9-15 range somehow without having to take on 3 years $100m. you mentioned the HOU offer, there was also a similar TOR rumor for #9, SAS and OKC have each been rumored to like CJ, PHI has been rumored for him too so that's a possible trade up involving him etc.
If PHO gets back a pick for KD, it seems within reason that they could be interested in sending out their negative salary (allen, o'neale) and that pick to bring back CJ and/or reunite Claxton with Ott.
CJ and Bane had almost identical seasons last year and CJ is cheaper, I don't expect him to bring back the volume of picks Bane did obviously but his fit is so easy across so many contenders I think there is a better chance than not that he will be able to help the nets get another lotto pick.

I can’t see giving up ANY picks for a non all star caliber player. It’s simply spinning your wheels.

Rather than give up a first I would probably target Michael porter jr instead of cam Johnson. Porter produces the same stats and defense and won't cost a first.
