MIL - PHI - SAC (Helping Giannis)

Post#1 » by bpcox05 » Sun Jun 22, 2025 7:51 pm

------------------------------

MIL GETS: Paul George & Zach LaVine
MIL GIVES: Damian Lillard, Kyle Kuzma, Bobby Portis, Pat Connaughton, 2026 MIL Swap (less favorable of MIL/NOP 1sts), 2028 MIL Swap (less favorable of MIL/POR 1sts), 2030 MIL Swap (less favorable of MIL/POR 1sts), 2031 MIL 1st (Unprotected), & 2032 MIL Swap (Unprotected)
WHY FOR MIL? The Bucks recommit to Giannis by bringing in LaVine & George who can help shoulder the load while also being very complementary to Gianni’s’ game (considering they both are high volume sharpshooters). They also are able to get off Lillard’s contract who is expected to miss all of next season. If they resign Lopez and find a rotational PG with their exception, they’d have a very solid starting 5.

PG - Porter
SG - LaVine / Green
SF - George / Jackson / Livingston
PF - Giannis / Smith
C - Lopez

------------------------------

PHI Gets: Kyle Kuzma, Bobby Portis, & Pat Connaughton
PHI Gives: Paul George & 2026 HOU/LAC/OKC 1st (least favorable)
Why for PHI? The 76ers breakup George’s contract into some expirings and flexible pieces and expirings and only surrender a 1st that isn’t tied to their record. At the same time, the pieces they do get back fit well with their core and give them some more depth.

PG - Maxey / Butler
SG - McCain / Gordon / Council / Walker
SF - Oubre / Connaughton / Edwards
PF - Kuzma / Portis
C - Embiid / Drummond / Bona

------------------------------

SAC GETS: Damian Lillard, 2026 HOU/LAC/OKC 1st (least favorable), 2026 MIL Swap (less favorable of MIL/NOP 1sts), 2028 MIL Swap (less favorable of MIL/POR 1sts), 2030 MIL Swap (less favorable of MIL/POR 1sts), 2031 MIL 1st (Unprotected), & 2032 MIL Swap (Unprotected)
SAC GIVES: Zach LaVine
WHY FOR SAC? The Kings swallow Lillard’s max deal while he rehabs all next season (and maybe even part of the 2026-28 season). As compensation for taking on Lillard (and for sending out a 23 PPG/.639 TS% player), they get two 1sts and four swaps. And if Lillard comes back next year annd looks close to his old self, perhaps the Kings could flip him for another asset or use him to help address their PG hole. Also, moving LaVine allows for the Kings to start Ellis at SG (something a lot of Kings fans want) allowing us to get some much needed defense on the floor.

PG - Monk / Carter / Lillard (rehab)
SG - Ellis / Davis
SF - DeRozan
PF - Murray
C - Sabonis / Valanciunas / Jones

Sixers don't have that pick anymore, and I wouldn't do it without it anyway. I get the value is there, but I can't watch Kuzma on my team. That's brutal. PG is way overpaid, but he's still a legit good all around player when he's out there and a good fit in the event Embiid is healthy.

no way I'd give away that many picks just for the pleasure of paying 37-year-old Paul George 56.5mil

maybe there's a dame for lavine deal that makes some sense but I don't think that's realistic either

The Kings and Sixers would probably have to attach first round picks to get rid of Lavine and George, not the other way around.

Not sure why the Sixers would give up a first to break down PG into those contracts. PG is the best player of the group if the Sixers want to compete now and they don't own that pick since they traded it already.

Pretty sure that lavine has a lot more value than a player who will not be playing next season.

I mean, you’re paying for the pleasure of not having Dame make $54m to not play this year, and to avoid the pleasure the next season of paying 36 year old Dame $58m to maybe play. Right as you’re trying to convince your franchise defining superstar to stick around.

You can dislike the deal but that’s the main hook here. Gonna be tough to move Dame and get back some good players right away.

the 3rd year of George is a huge problem

giving up assets to get stuck with that is a non-starter

LaVine just got traded for a bleh first and some trash deals. Dame is a trash deal with the injury but there's not a chance in hell you're convincing me that LaVine is now worth an unprotected first 6 years out, an unprotested pick swap 7 years out, every swap under the sun all while the Bucks get paid 1 first (and trade maybe the best player in the deal Bobby Portis), which they add to to deal, to take on arguably an even worse deal.

This is a hard and absolute NO!

Only one of those picks (MIL ‘31 unprotected first at the end of Giannis’ career) has any value. The rest are make believe picks that won’t even convey.

And that for the provide of paying off a horrid Dame contract?!?!

Just LMAO!
