Lauri to Chi, now more than ever w/ Sixers

The East looks VERY open at the moment. Of course, Clev and NY should be good, and Orl might be a contender, but I'd like my Bulls to consider a big move to try and at least make the playoffs
Utah should totally blow it out, this deal gets them the #3 pick
Sixers move back a bit and get 2 lotto picks
Chi sends #12 to Philly and Vuc/PWill/Port pick and a top 10 protected 2027 pick to Utah
Chi gets Lauri
Sixers send #3 to Utah
Sixers get #5/#12
Utah sends Lauri to Chi and #5 to Sixers
Utah gets PWill/Vuc/JCarter (buyout)/#3/Port pick/2027 top 10 protected Chi pick
Utah takes VJ, who has star potential. They sign Kessler long term and hope some of their other young talent blossoms
SIxers could still get Ace at #5 and they add #12 to get a much needed PF
Bulls go for 50 wins, bring back Jones and roll with
White/Ayo/TJones
Giddey/Ball/TJones
Matas/Huerter/Terry
Lauri/Phillips
Collins/JSmith
Bulls finished strong and this team has good talent. If Giddey can keep growing, this could be a 2nd round team

We would be so unbelievably stupid to trade 3 + Lauri for 5 as the core of a deal. The 2027 pick needs to at least be unprotected, or Philly needs to be cut out and another asset sent to Utah.

Lauri doesn't get us to 50 wins nor make us some sort of playoff threat.
It gets abused defensively on a nightly basis.
Not to mention Buzelis is a 4.
Chicago isn't in a position to to trading future picks when the return is only Lauri.
Utah also aren't taking Williams and his contract isn't enough of a negative for Chicago to be throwing in a 1st with him.
Terrible deal all around.

I disagree Dez-we won 40 this year, and were very successful at the end of the year. Lauri for PWill is a HUGE upgrade-he's an AS caliber player.
Dumping Vuc will help also, to improve our D a ton
I think Matas should be a 3 man, at least to start.
Giddy running the break with Lauri/White/Matas is deadly, and I think our half court offense would be solid.
We'd win 45-50 games and be a decent team, with young talent to grow

I would send the 12 to Kessler, if what they want is to take a step forward.. Vucevic has had a better year than Lauri by the way, practically the same minutes (of course Vucevic has more availability), practically the same points (19 vs. 18.5 Markkanen wins here) Vuc better rebounder, better assistant, better 3-point percentage... etc etc and of course a much better contract..
I'm not sure the Bulls will improve with Lauri in Vucevic's place, at least the numbers don't support it.

Lauri is a much better player than Vuc-assuming he's healthy it's a big upgrade
Collins at C over Vuc helps our D a lot
The key is which Giddey we get, but Lauri would get A TON of open looks from him

If the CHI 27 pick was UNP, I could see Utah go for this.

Negative desire to do this as a Jazz fan. Pick 3 and pick 5 don’t have much of a difference in value to me. And with Ace and his agent issues I think it makes it even more of playing field. Utah can probably get their guy they want without trading. Not interested in this deal at all.
If Philly wants to send the #3 and take back #21 for us taking on bad salary we can talk. Otherwise, easy pass for me.

this is roughly equating Lauri to the #12 pick + slightly more
which is problematic

True it's probably an overpay.

I wouldn’t trade Lauri for the 12th pick. Odds are that player is not better than Lauri. Plus we have to take bad back bad salary if we move Lauri (Beal, Dame, PG) and if we are taking back bad salary in no way shape or form am I only accepting the 12th pick.

IMO, I think Lauri is worth expirings + a pick around 10 (and, IMO, likely a bit more). I think that is a reasonable buy-low gamble for a team b/c the player we had for two years hovered between the 25th and 35th best player by a bunch of impact metrics (and this matched the eye test for me) and his game is extremely complimentary of ball-dominant stars.

interesting, this makes the trade i was about to post a bit on the generous side, though I still get the feeling that Ainge would call it not enough....

I just think we have to recognize that he is a distressed asset after this year. Whether it is injuries or manipulation to tank, it doesn't look good to have that reversion no matter how confident I am he will return to form. Interested to see the reception of whatever you post : )
