Simple trade for 2 teams to pivot and balance out their rosters

PHX: Trades Devin Booker for Jaylen Brown, 2025 pick number 32, 2026 2nd

Bos: Trades Jaylen Brown, Pick 32, 2026 2nd

Why for PHX: After moving KD, they need to make a few moves to pivot and rebalance their roster to even be deemed competitive. They've said so far they plan on keeping Jalen Green. Devin Booker is almost 30, and PHX has 4 startable SGs and not many 3/4 type wings. They can reset their timeline, build around Brown, Green, and pick number 10 while they figure out how to turn Beal into positive value.

Why for Bos: Theyre basically entering a retool year with Jayson Tatum down. Move Brown for Book, and have him in the backcourt with Derrick White next year as Tatum heals. Use the offseason to move off of Holiday and KP for new support cast for Tatum, Book, and Derrick White

You do realize Jaylen Brown is older than Booker, right? They won't be resetting their timeline by making this trade.

I personally wouldn’t do this for the Celtics.
I also think it makes little sense for PHX.
From a value perspective would we really value Booker higher than Brown?

Jaylen Brown is both older and worse than Booker. I don’t see Phoenix bitting at this, although it would be fun to see Tatum and Booker together. I do think Phoenix should trade Booker but not for anything the Celtics could offer

Boston might do it for value (I'd value Booker over Brown in general) but it actually makes their fit issues worse. They've still got White, Pritchard and Simons at guard while they're very thin at forward with Tatum out.

It is a fit win for Phoenix though SF is their 2nd best position so it's not that big as they still have nothing resembling a starter at PG, PF or C.

Both teams are pretty tied to their guys so it clearly isn't happening anyways.
