Re: Shams: Porzingis to ATL
Props to our trio of Celtics fans who worked diligently on Jrue/KP deals. Sad I guess for our handful of Celtics fans who insisted they would never just downgrade on talent to save money. But this was always the right thing to do after Tatum went down.
Not great value for the Nets here unless they just love Mann.
Great deal for Celtics. And good value for the Hawks and a worthwhile gamble in a contract year.

Hawks paid the 22nd pick to dump Mann's 45M? Was it really that bad? I suppose part of it is they valued Porzingis as well?

Mann cost a first to dump?

Not necessarily. About a third of the league doesn't have a first round pick, and some are eager to get in. I could see the Nets selling a pick for a future pick. #23 recently went for a '26 FRP. I could see #19 or #22 going for similar.

The Hawks paid #22 and Mann/Niang to acquire Porzingis.
Boston paid #22 to dump Mann on Brooklyn.

Re: Shams: Porzingis to ATL
An upside gamble for Atlanta. Though the price feels high given how rarely Porzingis is healthy (especially for the playoffs).
Nets getting all the non-lottery 1sts. At least not getting just 2nds for cap space rental but feels like diminishing returns unless there's a further trade.
Boston clearing salary as expected with moving Holiday and Porzingis. Now just need to patch up their PF/C rotation for next season on the cheap.

BREAKING: Boston, Atlanta and Brooklyn are finalizing a three-team trade that sends Kristaps Porzingis and a second-round pick to the Hawks, Terance Mann and Atlanta's No. 22 pick to the Nets, and Georges Niang and a second-rounder to the Celtics

The Nets now got 5 1st round picks in this year's draft. This tells me that they're ether going to try to move up or use those picks on a superstar.

Nah, you're wrong.
Start with Porzingis. His value was what the team receiving him gave up.
Mann/Niang/#22
Boston didn't want to pay Mann, and sent #22 with him to Brooklyn in order to dump him.
