Re: Pels/Sac
I think the idea is to pair Sabonis with wings like Trey and Jones, not trade Jones for Sabonis.

Money doesn’t work otherwise. They just got Bey, and can’t aggregate Poole.

Is the deal officially done during the 2024-2025 season or will the deal of Poole/McCollum be official in the 2025-2026 season?

I think it’s not done but assuming it goes through this is the only route that doesn’t include Murphy.

Assuming Dumars wants to pair them with Murphy.

Re: Pels/Sac
This is at least two firsts from Pels light.
The players that already exist under contract do not replace the pick value needed in return for an established All NBA caliber player.
Lesser players have already been moved this off season for decent return player value and much more draft capital. This is an insane short sell in Domas.
Hard no to this.

I think Zion and 7 for Sabonis works in a vacuum, but it's hard to pull the trigger with that lawsuit hanging out there.

Peak smokescreen season but there are rumors Sac is open to talking Sabonis, and rumors Dumars wants to shake things up.
I could see Sac ask for another first.
It mostly depends on if Perry sees his future at 7. It doesn’t take much squinting to see a future star in Essengue for example.

This is trash for the kings. Sabonis is worth a lot more than that.

I think 7 and Jones is a very good offer for Sabonis ...

would expect a better return than durant. Unlike Durant sabonis has several more years under contract which makes him more valuable. I would expect at least 1 to 2 more picks. Jones isn't a prize he is a good role player and should be valued as such

I thought Kelly got traded to Washington? Doesnt this have to be Dejounte anyways?
I'd do it either way. Herb + 7 and Kings should probably route Herb somewhere else for a pick.

This is much better than the Durant return.

No it isn't. The 10th pick has only slightly less value than the 7th in this draft. I would say brooks has more value than everything else in the trade except herb, and I think a combination of 5 second round picks and green is more value than herb even with that contract.

Jones is a much better player than Brooks.

Yes but green is better than Jones.

Green is much worse than Jones. Green is the worst player in that entire deal. He was voted one of the 10 worst contracts in the league by the board and he is an inefficient chucker. I'd still like a team to gamble on developing him, but it is far from a sure thing. I think Herb is worth more than the entire package Phoenix received for Durant.
