Did Hawks just become a prime Giannis location?

Hawks have a group of young talent they can trade for Giannis.
- Risacher
- Okongwu
- Jalen Johnson
- Dyson
- Bufkin
- Gueye
Hawks also have the Bucks pick if Bucks want to completely tank in 2026.
JJ+Risacher+Newell(23)+MIL/NOP26FRP+4 future ATL FRPs
for
Giannis
Bucks can rebuild around 2 young wings, they can tank in 2026, they get a nice big prospect in Newell and 4 future FRPs.
Hawks get a Trae, Dyson, Giannis, KP team to build around. Added tidbit is KP is a close friend of Giannis, maybe helps to sway him to the Hawks.

They could definitely make it interesting. I love their offseason so far.

I feel like Dyson would probably be part of the trade.
But yeah, from a trade value perspective they could put together a compelling offer.
Giannis would have to want to go there though. If he decides he wants to be moved he’ll likely have considerable control over where he goes. That’s just how it works.

I thought they were before this, tbh, but absolutely now. I would love to see what Snyder does with him.

Yeah there have many combinations. I would hate to see Trae-Dyson split up because they are such a good complement. If Hawks can do it without Dyson they need to but maybe they can't.

I think they can.
JJJ
Risacher
Okongwu
Bufkin
2026 NOP/MIL 1st (higher)
+ future picks
Very few teams can match that.

Makes sense to me-Atl KILLED this draft. I thought Newell was a good pick for them at #13

Wow nice work here, didnt even think of this
But with how weak the East likely is next year, no reason to trade Giannis right now
Bucks need to figure out a way to get better here
They have arguably the 3rd best player in the league and not worse than 4 currently (at least reg season)
They should try and make it work for another 1-2 years

If you are Giannis, and you saw this package to acquire you, then you would ask, what is left to win with. Tre and Dyson are good, but that team plus Giannis doesn’t make it to the ECF much less win a chip.

Young
Daniels
Insert player
Giannis
Porzingis
That seems like a really ideal complimentary group around Giannis to me.

KP is always hurt. Clint is a non shooter and Giannis can shoot from distance but doesn’t like to and doesn’t typically shoot with volume. Daniels shot 34% on low volume last year, and Trae shot 34% on high volume. That team has serious spacing issues, depth issues, and is money crunched. If everyone stays healthy they may make the play in, but I don’t think they make it to the playoffs, and even if they do, it is likely a first round and out. Assuming of course they can stay healthy.

Trae, Dyson, NT-MLE, Giannis, KP -- BAE, Bufkin, LeVert, Gueye, Okongwu

I had OO and Bufkin outgoing. But yes, we don't know what they do with the rest of the roster. E.g. what if BroLo is their backup 5? What if they use their TPE on a good wing? Etc.

Yeah they still have $14m MLE, $5m BAE to add to this:
Trae, Dyson, LeVert, Giannis, KP -- Vit, Gueye
Then Vet Min deals after that.

No. I don't think they have a chance at getting him.

Bucks aren’t trading Giannis to tank with Atlanta roleplayers + mostly mediocre picks besides the one we get back. Just not trading Giannis period, Bucks are trying to compete in weakened east. Don’t think Atlanta would be that attractive post trade, probably not somewhere Giannis would resign.

Don’t consider Jalen Johnson a role player. 19/10/5 on only 22% usage last yr…

It’s relative to Giannis but maybe this is harsh as I like Jalen Johnson, I will say Atlanta has more to offer than most teams at least as far as young players. I’m just not trading Giannis unless he demands it.

Yeah, I liked their chances before this trade. Think Chuck was the first one I saw post it. Jalen/Zac are nice pieces and Atlanta owns enough future picks to add.
Even more so now though. Milwaukee shouldn’t trade Giannis unless he demands out, but that’s true in almost any Giannis trade discussion..

This is way too much value for Atlanta to send out for Giannis. When has this type of deal EVER worked out for the team acquiring the superstar? You get the star, but very little remains for the team to compete with.
Atlanta is much better off being patient and staying the course and hoping that they
1) stay healthy
2) young guys continue developing
3) NOP or MIL suck and their pick turns into a Top 5 asset
