Disclaimer, maybe Im just a forever pessimist, but it didnt seem like Cooper was all that excited or happy to be going to Dallas. Cant blame him with Nico and the disfunction happening. This would be my way to show him this is your team, not Anthony Barely Day to Day's
Dallas Gets: Draft RIghts to Liam McNeely, Pick 33 - Tyrese Proctor
Cha Gets: Naji Marshall
The thinking here for Dallas, get two of Coop's former teammates Liam and Proctor, the latter fits a need of a guard who can handle and facilitate. For Cha, not sure if they'd want to bring in 4 rookies at once. This gives them a "dawg" who is a bit of a Swiss Army knife in that he's pretty good at many aspects of the game, just may be buried behind Coop, PJ, and some soft as toilet paper guy they traded Luka for
I'm assuming its legal given both their cap situation, but if not, plz feel free to say so

WOuld hate to give up Naji for that. If they'd do Okogie/2nd for Caleb Martin, sure Dallas should jump on it. But assuming Martin may be negative value at this juncture

Thank Nico for it, but right now, it's a necessary trade for the Mavs.
Right now the roster is really imbalanced, one of Martin/Marshall needs to go I doubt there are enough minutes to one of them, let alone both, and PJ has no place in rotation and Nico mentioned him a wing.

Thank and Nico go together about as well as safe and Washington DC

Marshall currently clearly has a role right now. He's going to be an on-ball player. Now Dallas should add two PG's so maybe he becomes more expendable, but disagree there is no role for him right now.
Also don't think Cooper Flagg is the kind of guy who needs his bff's to be comfortable. Every time he's jumped a level he's been immediately the best player and even playing against the national team, there was no back down, no tiptoeing in.

Im sure you're right, and I'd hate to give up Naji, one of my fave players after PJ/Flagg/Lively, just dont think any team would value our other guys Caleb/Hardy/Klay/etc.
Yea hopefully it was just may reading into much of nothing, just seemed like Cooper wasnt as excited as I would have hoped, but perhaps just his demeanor

Eye test and lineup stats really hate Marshall as the ball handler.
He was an emergency solution, he shouldn't continue doing it, if the plan is for Marshal to be a ball handler, the plan is destined to fail.

I understand the Mavs options currently suck. I've mentioned it dozens of times this week alone. Doesn't change he's currently one of the best options they currently have.
I'm obviously okay trading him too as just a couple days ago I posted a salary dump involving him before seeing Kyrie's number come in where it does. But he's in the rotation right now without question. Even if they add Russell, bring back Exum, he's still going to be in the rotation.
I just mainly think the OP's idea of needing to bring in friends of Flagg isn't necessary. There are vets here to mentor him. I'd put his locker in between Kyrie and Dwight Powell for instance.
