BOS/LAC/DAL - Jrue know it's Simons now

BOS: PJ, Hardy for Simons
LAC: Simons for Powell
DAL: Powell for PJ, Hardy

BOS saves another $7.5M and gets PJ at a position of need. Takes on Hardy.
LAC: Gets younger and the tiniest bit taller? I'm not really sure why they trade off Powell, tbh. But, I've seen it before and am running with it.
DAL: Positional/scoring need without Kyrie. Gets off Hardy deal.

Maybe BOS owes LAC something?
Taking on Hardy probably balances out anything DAL might be owed from BOS side.

Powell for Simons is a pretty significant downgrade for the Clippers.

Yeah, it might be the fatal flaw here. I basically took the Jrue idea and substituted Simons, lol. Maybe we throw 2 seconds in and call it good....

Wouldn't Dallas rather have Simons anyways? He fills in better as a pg for Kyrie.

I wonder if Simon’s fits better in Dallas?
Idk.
I think mixing in some different Clippers makes this more interesting….hold on the line for Math?

Yeah, I added LAC so DAL has to send out less money. I don't wanna deal with Klay, they don't wanna send out their $9M guys.

Also works with Sexton, (BOS gest PJ and KJ, UTA gets Hardy). But I couldn't find the UTA justification either.

Boston isn't getting PJ for Simons by just taking Hardy. Pj is so much better

Can you quantify how much better into a counter?

I like Simons to Dallas idea, but I don’t think this is the deal. There’s just so much logjam/expendable salary on that Dallas roster and Simons fits a need for them.

If you assume Flagg/AD/Kyrie/Lively/Gafford/Washington are their “core” as the top 6 players… they still have

Christie
Martin
Marshall
Hardy
Powell
Klay
Prosper

And all of it besides Powell/OMP is multi year. That’s a crazy amount of money tied up in the 7th-13th spots of the roster. It feels like a good consolidation trade could be made there and again, Simons does make some sense.

Boston probably wants to shed another $17 to duck the tax between Simons/Niang and Hauser if they need to. I think they’d rather use Hauser’s reportedly decent market to get a big man though, so salary savings preferably from Simons and Niang. Boston can definitely reroute some of that Dallas consolidation package.

Well Pj is my fave player in the league so I'm biased. But I don't think the delta between PJ and Simons is something Bos should pay.

If DAL is willing to go PJ, Marshall, Powell, then it's easy to find a home for Naji/Powell. It's just what's the cost from BOS to DAL here?

I don't see anyway the Clippers do this without draft compensation. Normal Powell is a better player than Simons.

Expanded variation. I assume BOS owes, here but not sure how much and to whom?

LAC: Simons and PJ for Powell and Bogdanovic
DAL: Powell for PJ and Martin
BOS: Simons for Bogdanovic and Martin

Mavs get their scorer, give up guys where they have other people.
Clips replace 2 scorers with a single, younger one, but also bolster their front court.
BOS saves a tiny bit of money, but splits Simons into 2 usable and/or tradeable pieces.

Norman Powell was a champion on reasonable term. Simons is not even part of a rebuilding team. This is significant differences. Younger doesn't mean better. I bet LAC can dump Powell to rebuilding team without getting back any cap burden.

Honestly I have no interest in either Norm or Simons if they cost us PJ.
I'd rather bring the band back togheter and throw the TXMLE to CP3 or DLo.
