Bulls Go for 2026 Plan-Char

Post#1 » by pipfan » Sat Jun 28, 2025 5:26 am

I would REALLY like my Bulls to take a step back, and reset the roster for 2026. We have some interesting young talent, tons of cap space but I don't want another Playin push.

Char should start winning some games

Vuc/CWhite for Nurkic/Okogee/Jeffries/Dallas 2027 pick (top 2 protected)/Miami 2027 pick (lotto protected, then unprotected in 2028)

Char brings White home to NC, and gets a real starting center in Vuc. This team, if healthy, could easily win 40 games
Ball/Micic/Smith
White/Kon/Green
Miller/McNeally/GWilliams
Bridges/Salaun
Vuc/Diabate/Kalkbrenner

I know they just drafted Kon, but no way he's ready to start. Maybe White becomes their super 6th man eventually

Bulls take a step back (and push another team-Char-above them in the standings, to get more lotto balls for next summer), clear cap space and add 2 future picks

Ball/Ayo/Carter
Huerter/Terry
Giddey/PWill/Jeffries
Matas/Noa/Phillips
Collins/JSmith/Nurkic
They go into next summer with Giddey (let's say $30 million), Matas, Noah, Phillips, JSmith, Jeffries plus their own top 8 pick (praying for lotto luck), plus about $100 million in cap space and 3 future 1sts (Port/Miami/Dallas) and all their own

To me, that's better than another trip to the Playin and a #12 pick next year

no we're not trading both of our only good 1sts from other teams for Coby White

i think you'd be fortunate to get one of the two. If you really want two 1sts, you're getting 2026 1st worst of MEM/ORL/WAS/PHX and 2029 1st worst of MIN/CLE/UTA

Sure, I understand
The Dallas pick then and one of the other ones
You're also getting Vuc here-who will start at C for you next season

the Bulls trade their starting center for a sitting 3rd string making the same money, they trade their starting SG for apparently nothing in Jefferies because you don't list Okogee, future picks and they end up keeping Terry in a larger role and Carter still at the end of the bench. They end up with Huerter, Collins, Nurkic and Carter all expiring and the hope that 2 FA centers and some starting wings want to come for short term deals so as not to clog up the roster when their 2026and 27 picks show up. While they wait 2 years for a pick to materialize

most egregious would be not sending Lonzo to partner with his brother as popular a fantasy as that is

The Hornets are not doing this. They already just drafted another guard this week and I'm not convinced that Lamelo Ball/Coby White are great fits next to eachother. Feel like a overpay based on that and fact that players of his skillset seem not be as valued as they used to be.
