I didn’t see that coming. Thought bulls were going stay with ball .

Extending Lonzo ball so you can trade him for a bad contract. Bulls FO minds operate on a plane of existence I will never understand

Ty Jerome must be leaving the Cavs.

I think this is a trade the Cavs do regardless of what Jerome does.

I think it definitely means at least one of Jerome or Merrill are gone. Maybe both.

Doesn't impact the Garland/Ty Jerome situation or I'm missing something.

I get the fit but so many question marks about Lonzo (health of course is the biggest one) that I don't know if I like it for the Cavs.

Trading for a 3rd string PG is a sign of a Garland trade?

I'm in!

Okoro is healthier and fits better on the Bulls.

This is a fantastic trade for the Cavs. They get one of the best guard defenders and passers in the league to cover up for Mitchell's great shortcomings in those areas AND they get rid of Okoro.
What were the Bulls thinking?

They're the same contract. 10-11 million for the next two years. I'd rather take a flier on the younger player if I'm Chicago.

I like Lonzo a lot when he's healthy, but that's a risky bet. I believe it's a team option for his last season right? So it could just be a contract improvement move.

There's better chance of Lonzo Ball becoming Cal Ripken, Jr. than Okoro becoming good.

Think it’s a pretty decent trade for both sides. Would think it impacts one of Cleveland’s guards..

But it’s a great buy low for Cleveland imo. It’s a perfect fit if he can get/stay right in a lower minute regular season role

That was always the case. I think Merrill is gone. The Cavs targeted Proctor in the 2nd round to play immediately. I actually think retaining Jerome is more likely after this deal.

They could have just not extended him and traded him for positive value at the dealine which he allegedly had
It's also not the same deal, Lonzo has a TO

I believe Cleveland's ownership saved around $4–6 million in real dollars with this trade since Okoro makes $1 million more than Ball. Okoro is also fully guaranteed at $11.8 million in 2026, while Ball is set to make $10 million next year on a team option.
