DAL - PHI - SAC (Maxey to SAC)

------------------------------

DAL Gets: Malik Monk
DAL Gives: PJ Washington & Jaden Hardy
Why for DAL? With the Mavs being able to start a frontcourt of Flagg, Davis, & Lively with Marshall & Gafford off the bench, Washington becomes expendable. With Irving rehabbing from his injury, Monk gives them another scorer, ball handler, & playmaker to help carry their offense. Even when Irving is back, Monk can share the floor with him (similar to what he did with Fox) knowing the Mavs still have an elite defensive frontcourt to cover for them.

PG - Irving / Monk / Williams
SG - Thompson / Christie
SF - Flagg / Martin
PF - Davis / Marshall / Prosper
C - Lively / Gafford / Powell

------------------------------

PHI Gets: Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Jaden Hardy, 2026 SAC 1st (Unprotected), 2027 SAS 1st (17-30 Protected), 2028 SAC 1st (Unprotected), 2030 SAC 1st (Unprotected), 2031 SAC/MIN 1st (Unprotected - More Favorable), & 2032 SAC 1st (Unprotected)
PHI Gives: Paul George & Tyrese Maxey
Why for PHI? The 76ers begin lean into a rebuild (and would look to move Embiid after) by getting a haul of unprotected picks and shedding long term salary.

PG - McCain
SG - Edgecombe / Gordon / Hardy
SF - LaVine / DeRozan / Council
PF - Oubre
C - Embiid / Drummond / Bona / Broome

------------------------------

SAC GETS: Paul George, Tyrese Maxey, & PJ Washington
SAC GIVES: Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Malik Monk, 2026 SAC 1st (Unprotected), 2027 SAS 1st (Protected 17-30), 2028 SAC 1st (Unprotected), 2030 SAC 1st (Unprotected), 2031 SAC/MIN 1st (Unprotected - More Favorable), & 2032 SAC 1st (Unprotected)
Why for SAC? The Kings sell off all of their picks for a 24 year old, star PG. Maxey can help elevate their ceiling in hopes of becoming a top tier team in the West. George, although overpaid, can still help the Kings with their goal of winning now. He can shoot, defend, and be another go-to scorer for them (not to mention he gives them some much needed length). Washington gives them another PF that is a terrific complement to Sabonis and can easily start when/if George has injuries. Maxey, Ellis, George, Murray, Carter, Clifford, & Washington is a lot of defense, length, athleticism, shooting, & scoring around Sabonis.

PG - Maxey / Carter
SG - Ellis / Davis
SF - George / Clifford
PF - Murray / Washington / Raynaud
C - Sabonis / Valanciunas / Jones

Refer to the Simons and Saxton trades to see Monk's true value

This feels like that time the Celtics took control od the nets future. We would be watching the sixers build a dynasty in the 2030s while we make a 6th seed before maxey follows fox out.

Maxey isnt the target, inefficient/bad shooting/not good d, and George is a bad contract. Lavine better contributing offensively with great efficiency

Sexton is an expiring and Simons makes around $10 mil more per year than Monk. I don’t see those being the best comparisons.

He's inefficient if he's the only scorer on the floor. He most definitely is not bad or inefficient when he's working off a high-end big, which he was in PHL and would be in SAC.

6 1sts (5 unprotected and 1 protected 17-30) for Maxey is absolutely horrible?

Especially when you are shedding George’s deal in the process? And also when you get LaVine and DeRozan who could be flipped for minor assets or simply come off the books much earlier than Maxey & George (giving you much more cap space to work with sooner)?

"Minor assets" and "getting Maxey off the books" are not drawing cards.

I’ll happily keep Maxey and George.

This trade would wreck the fan base and television viewers and season tickets. Yea absolutely horrible!

I think the OP is probably already big enough, but would seem possible to send Jonas to Philly?

Eh. Value seems good for Philly, but direction seems strange. Might encourage Joel to try the Ball-knee surgery or some other long term solution.. and then Philly can pay OKC for their pick back and tank..

Getting Maxey off the books for the sake of getting him off the books is not attractive, true. Luckily that’s not what’s happening here.

There’s plenty going to Philly here, but I think you’re just too early. The only way they trade him is if they decide to strip it to the studs.

Check back in December or January if this is another disaster season. It might be!
