Bit of a strange target imo, but a good player on a great looking deal at that price.

If LA had the option to pay him near that amount I don't get letting him go (of course he might've just wanted to move back to Texas).
I bought a boat.

53/4 and the Lakers couldn't match? Not a good look...

I see everyone is back to taking tampering seriously.

Didn't really need him but a good vet signing at that number. Still need some more creation imo.

Texas no tax state. Lakers would had to pay him something like 4/66 just to match post tax income

Damm, hope Pelinka has good things aligned. Great signing for Houston.

well darn - that sucks. Was hoping they'd find a way to keep him. Hopefully we don't blow too much of the MLE on Ayton.

Will wait to see how Rockets add more creation before I grade this.

DFS was good on the Lakers but also not as impactful as was expected. His ability to defend guards well has gone. Still a great defender on big wings. After Luka trade it became an issue not to have good guard defenders.

Cali also has a millionaire tax. Not idea for role players with options.

That number seems way high? State income is only like 12%, and I believe it's only for the home games.

Sign and trade will still give them MLE i believe. Maybe they can grab cam.

Rockets just absolutely killing this off-season.

And I know fans of other teams love to cite no income tax in Texas as a huge advantage. But it never has been. And a reminder that only helps for the home games and other games played in no income tax states. And Texas still has to generate revenue just like other states so you have high property/sales taxes.

Lakers chose not to pay him. Not they were disadvantaged. Let's be real.

It's a loss for the Lakers but I'm not sure how much it helps Houston. They've got 3 forwards ahead of him and ran some 2 center lineups. This is a lot for a 9th/10th man. A good backup SG feels much more important for the Rockets.

So that's a starting salary of about $12.33M with 5% raises.

Yeah I think it might have needed to be $61m for 4 to stay in Lakers.

Issue is the years, Rob is scared of 4 year deals.
