Do think this helps them a good amount. They needed some more shot creation and a real PG.

Was really hoping that Minnesota could nab him, but Orlando likely offers more minutes.

Magic loading up on playmaking finally. After so long avoiding playmaking guards.
What have changed there ?

Still don't know Schroder terms but already would have preferred this deal.

Smart move. Bane and Tyus know each other well.

Re: (Shams) Tyus Jones to Magic
Jones fits the magic much better than the Suns, where he was basically just asked to walk the ball up the court and hand it over to Booker, Beal, KD, rather than create.
The Magic can use his ability to create and space the floor, while having the size and defender to cover Tyus' weaknesses. Great signing and I think Jones will revitalize some of his value here.

This is solid. But I still think Orlando needed more. This is putting a ton on Banchero/Wagner to be Tatum/Brown.

A reunion in the making.

It's been a while now. I've been wanting Tyus with the Magic for the past couple of seasons as the Magic needed to address playmaking issues. Looks like it's happening.

What addition(s) do you suggest?

It's too late. They believe in Banchero/Wagner more than me and went with Bane to make life easier on them. It's a great plan if one or both take a big step, but a big step is needed. Now maybe a true first option was never going to become available, but more of a lead guard certainly could have.

sounds great but you just described ORL's offense...it's on the coaches now to make sure Bane isn't standing in the corner yelling "I'm open" while Paolo cooks.
Great summer for ORL so far, but they need an offensive scheme to utilize all of the talent.

Orlando has proven they are standing behind the duo. We have to keep in mind they are young and still building on their respective experiences. As long as the Magic are realizing they needed to address their offensive woes(thankfully they are), they can only improve from there. I can't fully speak into the future what will happen with this team. If this duo matures well and be part of better results, then cool. If it doesn't work for any reason, then the Magic can only pivot. Until then, I think they are trending in the right direction.

I think with a trio of Banchero, Wagner and Bane, you are looking to add useful supporting players. We'll have to wait and see if this trio pans out, of course, but it doesn't make a ton of sense to add another established high-usage or ball-dominant player IMO. Tyus Jones strikes me as a great addition.
