Cavs and Magic trade ideas

Cavs get: Wendell Carter Jr. and Tristan da Silva
Magic get: Max Strus
Why?
Cavs add size, a back-up big and a wing prospect.
Magic get a shooter on a reasonable deal.
I think this one is more reasonable.
Cavs get: Goga Bitadze and Jett Howard
Magic get: Max Strus
Why?
Cavs add a back-up Center and a young wing.
Magic add a veteran shooter.

I don't think the Magic are the ones who need to add value to a Strus for WCJ deal.

This trade would leave the Magic with one center for a guy who doesn't crack the rotation.

I know that Strus shot poorly in Game 5, but I'd be surprised if the F.O. was as eager to move him as some fans. He does a lot very well, like defend, and Okoro's gone. Going all in on Ball's health and a rookie probably isn't the best plan.

magic need to cut money not take on money ..wcj is a no for sure without a better center coming back..
if moving goga i think will be to clear space to bring moe back not for a guy no real min and cost more
i do not see magic having interest in this at all

Before the Bane trade I was convinced that there was a Garland - Franz trade that turned both teams into title favorites.

I suggested something around McBride for Bitadze with the spare money getting sent to Brooklyn. Magic save some money while snagging a mini-Suggs to back up the original. Knicks get 48minutes of quality rim protection again…backfilling for Deuce with Shamet & Kolek.

Not in terms of value. Also, I don't see the Cavs doing anything to help out the Magic.

1st trade is not even close.
2nd trade I would entertain. Orlando still needs depth and can never have enough shooting.
Having Mo/Struss/Jones coming off the bench will be a potent offensive weapon to have.

To put it another way, if you move Strus, who's playing with some grit? Mitchell? Maybe Mobley?

We may have those guys in Tyson, Ball, and Proctor, but only one of them is a starter and the injury risk is huge with the third. The Cavs aren't in a position to pay WCJ after his extension. This is DOA.

I'm not saying you would do that...but why on Earth would ORL trade their starting C and a very promising versatile rookie for a one trick guy that's been bounced around? Seriously, that's ridiculous

I mean, I made it pretty clear that I don't think Orlando should do the OP's deal. But Strus and WCJ are closer to each other than either of them are to Jarrett Allen.

We can certainly disagree (and we do)...WCJ is an exceptional switching defender for a big and a versatile offensive player - admittedly coming off of a bad shooting year (like the entire ORL roster). Strus is an offensive guy who scored 9ppg and is below league average in DBPM. That's not even mentioning da Silva who is far from a throw in. In this age of financial restraint, I wouldn't trade da Silva at $3.8m straight up for Strus at $15.9m.

Absolutely not, you must agree with me.

Been focusing on youth NT football since the postseason ended so haven’t paid close attention to the nba; that was suggested while the finals were on going. But who have you got?
Suggs, Bane, and Black? Is there someone else I’m forgetting? Cause if not, I feel like there would still be plenty of minutes for a versatile defender & shooter like McBride…especially with Black likely to be your best backup at the 3, barring a major step from someone like da Silva…and we could send you Hukporti to be that cheap 3C you can develop behind WCJ & Moe, that I like him as for us.
Wouldn’t save you as much, but is a move that I think makes both teams better…but I’m high on both Goga & Deuce.

We just signed Tyus Jones and drafted Jase Richardson so trading a big for guard wouldn’t be a priority right now.
