Straight Forward:
Why for Jazz: get a rising SG that can be part of the future
Why for Sixers: get a better fit since they have so many guards now, and also an expiring contract.

I think if Philly is willing to pay Grimes enough to salary match Collins they will just keep him.

Yes, even though it’s worth noting that Collins was the better player last year by a considerable margin.

Not once Grimes was starting, 23/5/5 post all-star on 59%TS, over a steal per game. Who knows how real that is, but it is clear that he is better than the opportunities he has gotten.

Collins was still better even when you isolate post-AS. Grimes "leap" was primarily due to a massive uptick in usage & minutes on slightly poorer efficiency and a massive drop in net rating and on/off (for what that's worth).

I don't see PHI going into the tax for John Collins.

Re: S&T Grimes for John Collins
BYC would make this harder to pull off. Honestly I think looking at Philly's roster Grimes is not really needed. I think Morey would love to move Grimes in a SNT and get future draft capitol if some team buys into the hype.
