John Collins for Miles Bridges

Post#1 » by Bentley1225 » Tue Jul 1, 2025 7:12 pm

Based on what has transpired with Charlotte, they need more size after dealing away Nurkic and drafting further wings

Ill offer this simple swap

To Utah
-Miles Bridges (2 years, $47.8 million)

Toi Charlotte
-John Collins (1 year, $26.6 million)

Why?
-The Hornets have too many wings and need more size. Collins gives them a PF/C who can start

Ball/Smith/FA?
Sexton/Green/Connaughton
Miller/Knueppel/McNeely
Salaun/Williams/FA?
Collins/Plumlee/FA?

-The Jazz clear up glut of startung calibre frontcourt pieces and get a starting wing in Bridges

Collier/Clayton Jr/Springer
Bailey/Williams/George
Bridges/Sensabaugh/Mykhaliuk
Markannen/Hendricks/Filipowski
Kessler/Nurkic/FA?

I'd much rather keep Collins than to trade him for Bridges period, but the additional year just makes it worse.

Collins would be a really good fit. Even though he's probably a worse player, I think I'd probably chip in the late 2026 1st to get this done. there's probably a Bridges tax simply due to his past

Detroit beat writters keep hinting about Detroit trying to acquire John Collins.

Schröder sign and trade to Sacramento with Fontecchio going to Utah and John Collins to Detroit makes the money work.

Technically, it's a good trade. But I wouldn't want to have an immature Bridges in the same locker room as Ace Bailey.

@HornetJail's deal works if Utah is willing to eat a year of Bridges salary.

@Vege's deal works if Jazz simply want to get off (most of) Collins money and bring in a familiar face who won't demand a ton of minutes.

Disagree on the first sentence, agree on the second.

I think Detroit would have to add 2nds, we have +8 2nds.

The reports are that Detroit was trying to dump Fontecchio somewhere to use his money to acquire someone, I don't know if that's true, and that's not news, that's 24+ hours report.

I hear ya.

The transactions have been so wacky the past few days. I can't figure out who owes what anymore in these deals, HA! None of it makes sense.
