Sacramento - New Orleans

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Tue Jul 1, 2025 10:37 pm

Sacramento trade: Lavine
New Orleans trade: Murray, Jones

Why for New Orleans: No room at PG w/ Poole & Fears.. get out of murray's 3rd year, improve spacing around Zion.
Why for Sacramento: fill position of needs and gamble on Murray's rehab

Queen/Missi
Zion/Bey
Murphy/
Lavine/Hawkins
Poole/Fears

Sabonis
Jones
Murray

I hate it for both. But I hate those rosters already so its maybe not worse. Hate it a bit more for the Kings though.

Absolutely yes. I'd include Carter + charlotte 2026 2nd if New Orleans wants them.

Why on earth would Pels want to do this? Trading our starting backcourt for LaVine?

Murray is out for a long time and very questionable how effective he will be following an achilles injury.

Murray was injured in January. That’s a 9-12 month injury. 9 months putting him right at the start of the season. My best guess is he will probably be back around January 1. He’s in his 20’s and unlike Zion, taking his rehab seriously. I’m not sure why people act like he died, or as if he’s the same as these guys that blew their Achilles late in the playoffs. I’m not going to pretend that he’s going to immediately play like nothing ever happened. But he will play this season.

Ehhh….problem is Vivek loves LaVine.

But a lineup with Ellis/Keegan/Jones in it has some legit defense.

Let the Pelicans trade Herb for value back to them and expiring to Sac and then maybe it would make sense. Otherwise no way I am using Herb to turn Murray into LaVine.

Longfellow posted this a few weeks ago, I think Sac owes a decently protected first or Carter and a stack of seconds. Whichever Dumars wants? Probably the first after drafting Fears?

Really don’t love the idea for either team, but just off of value imo

I don't. LaVine is pointless. Rather pay more for a good player or just pass and hope.

In his twenties???

You sure about that?

Edit: Never mind I checked. He’s 28. I just thought he was a lot older with all the severe injury mileage.
