Charlotte trade: Green, Okogie, worst of 2026 orl/phx/was/mem 1st
Brooklyn trade: Claxton

Why for Charlotte: add a starting C
Why for Brooklyn: get a pick and more capspace next offseason

They can open up cap space in 2026 offseason. No reason to trade Claxton for a swap when they already project to be the worst team in the league.

In other threads, CLT fan(s) were offering more value than this for Claxton. But if it’s the best offer, Brooklyn should take it.

For the life of me, I don't understand why the Lakers wouldn't drop an unprotected 1st on Claxton like they did for Mark Williams (before reclaiming it).

This offer represents 1/3 value of an unprotected 1st.

If the Hornets want him they probably have to cough up 3 protected 1st, 2 from the Ainge trade where Phoenix sent Utah 1 unprotected Suns first for 3 protected 1sts.

The Nets held out for the equivalent 3 protected 1sts for Cam Johnson, plus added MPJ who will be flipped for assets.

They are adopting the same posture with Claxton. He will go for a premium or not at all, in my opinion.

Why would BK do this?

this is probably lighter than anything BRK would accept, but I also don't think I'd offer more. I'd be happier to throw this same offer at Gafford.

I do not see BK having even one ounce of interest in this deal.

If Brooklyn didn't have to take back Green this seems fine. But they only save half his contract next year for a pick with very limited upside.

But I sure hope he gets traded. Because the difference in opinions on Claxton's value is about as wide as any player. Curious to see what the market actually thinks.

The Nets need to have a few vets so their youth movement works out. They need to develop them on and off the floor. Do you really think they will trade all of their vets for nothing? I do not.

Sean Marks has a plan. It is slowly coming together. I am unsure if they keep MPJ or flip him soon. They can easily trade him and another player for Giannis or just let him develop for years on BK. Every option is available. But, they won't trade Claxton for this crap. His value is much higher and I feel like they will keep him unless they get a great offer so he can play his normal healthy game this year and is young enough for the rebuild.
