HOU - LAL (LeBron to HOU)

Post#1 » by bpcox05 » Wed Jul 2, 2025 9:12 pm

———————————

HOU Gets: LeBron James
HOU Gives: Alperen Sengun, Jock Landale, & Tari Eason
Why for HOU? The Rockets triple down and go for a championship now by adding LeBron. Considering the value they are giving up, they'd probably have to have some assurances from LeBron that he intends on extending with them though.

PG - VanVleet / Sheppard / Holiday
SG - Thompson / Whitmore / Wiliams
SF - LeBron / Smith Jr. / Tate
PF - Durant / Finney-Smith
C - Adams / Capela / Green

———————————

LAL Gets: Alperen Sengun, Jock Landale, & Tari Eason
LAL Gives: LeBron James
Why for LAL? The Lakers push back their timeline and get a young, star big to pair with Luka as well as a young PF that complements Sengun's game very well.

PG - Vincent / Goodwin / James
SG - Reaves / Knecht / Milton
SF - Doncic / LaRavia
PF - Eason / Hachimura / Kleber
C - Sengun / Vanderbilt / Landale

Remove Eason, and Lakerd send 31 1st, and it's close...

I was thinking of swapping in Whitmore for Eason instead, but Sengun can be a difficult C to build around. HOU has done a good job of accumulating PF archetypes that fit well around him. I'd imagine LAL would like to try and acquire one of those with Sengun as it can be difficult to find that type of player later one (speaking from experience when looking at my Kings with Sabonis).

No thanks from Houston.

Send LeBron somewhere else.

I don't see it at all for Houston unless the financial value of having LeBron for a year is waaaaay more than we think. I think Sengun has more trade value.

The Rockets should trade him for Durant straight up.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Our approach would be similar to Durant

Not really interested, unless dirt cheap.
