Lakers/Knicks

LAKERS
In:OG/Robinson
Out:LeBron/Bronny

Lakers determined to rebuild around Luka, get an elite defensive wing and get younger
In this trade, the Lakers also retain their future assets.

KNICKS
In:LeBron/Bronny
Out:OG/Robinson

The Knicks get a top-15 player in the league, to dominate the East. Alternatively, it gives them future flexibility and they get rid of a very good player but with a questionable contract in OG. LeBron returns to the East, where he has a better chance of reaching the Finals, still in a huge market.

OG suppose to be Luka running mate when he can't be Brunson 2nd option? Seem like lakers giving Luka reasons to walk.

Seriously doubt the Lakers want to be burdened with OG's contract, so it'd almost certainly have to have a 3rd team involved.

They'd have Luka/Reaves/OG/Hachimura/Ayton + (Knech/Robinson/LaRavia and the 2031 FRP) all under 28. I think it would be a good supporting cast.

Think this is the best LeBron trade option: chance to compete for a title, large market, and good fit (star PG, 3&D wings, stretch big who can score)

Knicks might want a third team to take a little salary and avoid hard capping themselves at the first apron

What’s the ceiling on that cast ?

I'm not sure, it depends on how much the players develop, but all of them would be in their prime in theory (including a more experienced Redick), but it sounds hopeful... at least I don't think they're far from the Mavs who made it to the finals last year or the Pacers this year... it's possible that Luka could be the best player in the league at that time, at least he has the potential to get there...In addition, I'm sure someone else will join the cause through a transfer.

Pacers play in the East and the Mavs who made the finals had kyrie as a second option.

If we are using the Mavs as an example it makes sense to use LeBron in the kyrie role.

You’re not getting OG from us for a 90yo, forget throwing Mitch in. Paying Levron is your problem.

Yeah the lakers have an easier path to the finals than Indy did.

Think the west have more top heavy teams. Okc and nuggets were good enough title imo. They just had to play each other eventually.

I probably under rate the nuggets just because my Knicks wrecked them even though they were healthy and we didn’t have our defensive anchor…but if I acknowledge I underestimated the Nuggets and they were a threat last year, the east still had 3 other contenders for Indy to go through with Boston, Cleveland, and New York.

Granted I think the Wolves were title caliber when bringing their A-game and they just s*** the bed at the start of that OKC series by melting down over the officiating…which is why all season I kept saying that the east had 4 of the top 6 contenders…though Tatum & Hali’s injuries have thrown that on its head moving forward.

Either way, whether you classify Denver or Minnesota as contenders…or both…you have to classify NYK & Indy as contenders, giving the east 4 contenders this year vs the west’s 2 or 3…since I haven’t seen anyone yet who rated both Denver & Minny as title threats last year, but even if we did to steelman the west’s case, the east still had more.

Of course the west ultimately won the title and the east saw two top teams crippled for next season, but this season the east was deeper at the top while the west had a few more midlevel teams, since they had 2 fewer tanking teams.

The Knicks are built around 2 poor defenders in Brunson and KAT. They had more issues on defense than offense and just signed 2 more poor defenders this offseason. Swapping 2 of their few defenders for a 40/41 year old Lebron doesn't make much sense to me. Someone has to play defense.

The only way Lebron is going to the Knicks is if he gets brought out/waived. There's no trade out for a 40 year old Lebron James that makes sense for the Knicks.

If the Lakers are somehow able to get OG Anunoby, even at his contract in exchange for a 40 year old Lebron, that's major steal for them. The Knicks would block the Lakers/Lebron number if Lebron request OG to be included in any trade involving him.

So NY should just give up their best wing & rim defender for those two? We know LAL get gifts all the time(Luka, gifted buy out for Ayton) but damn
the the stink wear off on them deal before they get more.

Since when is OG supposed to the 2nd?? Im pretty sure KAT has that role. OG and Bridges are the high level utility players. Brunson and KAT are the real gunslingers.
