Help Get Wiggins to the Lakers

Lakers need an athletic wing defender and Wiggins fits the bill and is realistic

What do you guys think is fair for Wiggins?

Does Miami prefer a 1st or Knecht?

Not worth both clearly

Would Miami take Vando, Gabe/Maxi expiring, Knecht, Milton (not guaranteed, can waive him)? They continue to retool and get a young replacement for Duncan Robinson

Other option is Vando, Gabe, Maxi, 1st for Wiggins. We can take back Love too if we put in Milton (waived if Miami wanted) or Goodwin. Can throw in a 2nd

I also think Rui and Wiggins are similar impact guys, so if it’s Rui then it’s more like Rui, Gabe/maxi expiring, 2nd future swap

If it’s Rui+contract+knecht, then I think we try and get 2-3 2nds

they would not want Vando. gabe/kleber/milton + protected 1st is cleanest. Not sure how much they value knecht

Gabe+Kleber+Knecht works for Wiggins right now

We've been asking for Rui, Knecht, and a first. I would imagine that we'd probably settle for two of those things, but Vando is an absolute non-starter.

Disagree. Wiggins is a good 3&D wing, the kind of guy every team wants. Both might not even be enough to turn a random pile of filler contracts into Wiggins.

Rui and Vincent fill 2 major holes in Heat rotation and are very close to fair value, but Lakers are desperate so they'll add Knecht...

I think Miami should be happy with Vincent/Kleber/Milton here.

Vincent does nothing for our rotation. We have Mitchell, KJ, and Dru Smith at point guard. Vincent would be the 4th guy. Rui would help as it would allow us to use Jovic on the perimeter, more. We want Knecht because of the value, but his numbers are pedestrian. I mean, compare them to JJJ's this year, which everyone agrees was a regression, and see what I mean.

That's a hodgepodge of crap. Why would we be happy with that?

I can't help but tie this into your attempt to get Wiggins for a negative contract for the Raps. So clearly a player you value. But also a player whose value you want to torpedo to justify a bad offer.....

They shouldn't just give him away like this. That salary requires a pick. If they use Rui, they can get away with Knecht as added incentive.

But Miami can move Wiggins for expiring junk at the deadline if they decide they prefer cap space.

Yeah, Vincent plays ahead of 2-way player who ruptured his Achillis, and not sure who KJ is?

They move Wiggins 30 mil player option next year and the gameplan for them is probably to target free agency around Bam and Herro. It's plausible Vincent and Kleber could play well and either be small assets or be rotation players for their next version.

Smith was amazing before he got hurt. The only reason he's on a 2 way deal is because he's coming back from injury.

KJ is Kasparas Jakucionis. He's our first round pick this year who most considered to be a lotto pick value before the draft. Vincent isn't playing ahead of either of those two and certainly not ahead of Mitchell.

No matter how you slice it, it's short on value. Rui is also expiring and... Wait for it... Has value! We're not giving Wiggins away. Either offer value or move on. We're not Dallas. You're not getting free stuff from us...

Yeah, Vincemt plays next to him, and he's a rookie, he's getting at least 25 MPG on this roster if not more...

Didn't a report come out that said Miami is asking Rui, Knecht, 1st? I'd imagine add Kleber in there for money.

I think there might be an impasse here. Miami wants the 1st. LA wants to keep the 1st for now. Knecht doesn't get a team like Miami excited when they have so many who need mins ahead of him.

No, sorry. The team has already said they want to see their youth. That means Jakucionis, Mitchell, Herro, Pelle Larsson, and Smith are going to be prioritized over have Vincent.

We are not trading Wiggins for whatever LA doesn't want. This shouldn't be that hard. He has enough value to warrant more than this.

Miami could look at offering Wiggins, Haywood Highsmith and Keshod Johnson for Rui, Dalton, Gabe or Maxi and potentially the first. It needs to be a 3 for 3 since Miami is maxed out on roster spots. This would give the Lakers two high quality 3 and D wings that could help replace the outgoing DFS.

Yeah, not buying that for a second, agree to disagree, Vincent would be much higher on the pecking order than you claim.

Suggesting Wiggins for Barrett was more about fit than overall value which I rated as meh for both.

Barrett compared to Wiggins is younger and is more of an on ball playmaker, so while there's teams like the Raptors and Lakers where I prefer Wiggins, there are other situations I think they'd be better off taking a chance on 25 year old with good intangibles who put up 21/6/5 and is in the workable range shooting wise of around 35-36% 3pt the last 2 seasons where he could still improve and be genuinely considered a threat.
