CWhite/Port pick for Reed S and Cam W

Hou is full on win-now, and Coby would be the league's best 6th man. They also add a future pick
FVV/White
Amen/White
KD/Eason
JSmith/Eason
Sengun/Adams
That's an awesome 8 man playoff lineup. I think they could easily win a title

Bulls get younger
Giddey/Reed/JCarter
Okoro/Ayo/Terry
PWill/Huerter/Whitmore
Matas/Noa/Phillips
Vuc (try to deal him too)/Collins/JSmith

They play out the year and go into next summer with Giddey/Okoro/Whitmore/Reed/Matas/Noa/JSmith/Phillips and their 2026 pick. I think that could be an interesting team, with $80+ million to spend

I wouldn't use Reed for a guy you likely cannot afford after this season for the role you want to put him in. Higher upside to keep Reed and his cheaper contract.

Rockets very high on Reed and wouldn't do this.

Landale, Whitmore for White could have been the deal but Jock got non guaranteeded yesterday.

Unless Giannis becomes available, I think the Rockets are done.

Fair enough
Whitmore for the Port pick?

Houston is not doing op, they love Reed still.

This seems like an overpay from y'all honestly, what are the protections on that pick?

Edit: realized I have the Internet and can look it up. Seems like a steep price for cake ATP still but I'd take it for Houston

Sounds like Houston wants to get cap down more than they want to keep Whitmore. No way Houston can give him the minutes he needs. Reed will be sucking those minutes up and he fits the profile of what they need if he develops (3&D). Whitmore is a scoring machine and seems to be perfect in Chicago. So, Portland pick gets it done for me. Plus, good for Chicago. Plus, gets him out of conference so won’t have him exploding against us.

I think Cam probably goes for a second or two and not a protected first that could be seconds but perhaps I'm being pessimistic

As a Bulls' fan I want us to add young talent, and Whitmore is clearly talented

We could have a 3 forward crew of Matas/Whitmore/Noa moving forward (given up on PWill)-that's interesting. We have White/Giddey/Ayo/Okoro/Jones in the backcourt too

Problem is, our lineup is loaded at the moment with guy who need minutes-might not have space for him
White/TJones/JCarter
Huerter/Ayo/Okoro
Giddey/Pwill/Terry
Matas/Noa/Phillips
Vuc/Collins/JSmith

We could buyout JCarter, but we have A LOT of depth right now

I'm still high on Reed Sheppard long term. In the short term, I'd wonder if Coby's eventual extension next season will put the Rockets depth into limbo. If Coby will end up costing us Reed and a key piece to our wing depth (Tari or DFS), then my immediate answer is no.

I think I'd rather have Sheppard than Coby straight up. Not saying he's currently a better player, but Reed has really positive indicators already and the shooting is going to come. He should be the next guard lined up to take Fred's spot once he's washed and have him play next to Amen
