LAL trade: Vanderbilt
Brooklyn trade: Mann
Why for Lakers: add a PoA defender/SG depth
Why for Brooklyn: shave some payroll
Add 2nd(s) as needed

I have Mann worth more than JV, not sure if 2nds bridge the gap

Mann was just dumped with pick #22. I am not sure how much less valuable a player can be than Mann, and the player worth significantly less than Mann certainly isn't a low-end rotation player on less salary.

Not saying Mann is valuable, but he's playable at least. Wouldn't say the same for JV.

No thanks from the Nets.
Terance is from Brooklyn, and he's the PoA defender we'll need in the starting lineup.

Mann was dumped with a good pick because Boston was in 2nd apron and repeater tax hell. He's definitely the better player. I think it would take ~3 2nds to bridge the talent gap in a bubble. That being said, the small salary gap could prove beneficial if there's another salary dump lined up that requires the Nets to generate a few extra million in space beyond the roughly $17mil they have now.

Mann is the more competent offensive player. Vanderbilt is the better defender, including at point of attack or interior. Seems pretty fair to me.
But, that extra $4m this season in Mann matters greatly to LA, as it would put them over the hard cap by a couple million.

Lakers need Vando more than Mann.
