Pels continue to get pilloried for the draft day trade which is understandable. However from Dumars’ perspective, I think the argument that the player they could get at 13 is better than the player they would likely get at wherever they pick would have had in 26.

Let’s say they are right and hit a home run with Queen, defined as a Sengun/Sabonis level rookie year that shows you a fresh path for the team.

If that happens I can see the team moving on from Zion.

Would Washington do Sarr and one of their expirings for Zion?

Sarr is a perfect compliment to Queen. Aggressive shooter for his size, good defender and good enough as your second best rebounder in a starting 5.

Would it even be worth it for Washington to kick the tires? Let’s say we get to the trade deadline and Z has played 75 percent of games averaging 25 a game.

Even if the Pels start tanking after that it doesn’t really matter because they have their guy. Trey and Herb fit well next to him and Poole spaces the floor while fears gets experience and Dejounte gets healthy.

Zion is injury prone and under a rape investigation. WAS giving up Sarr or any team giving up any similar caliber prospect isn't worth discussing right now.

Trades involving Zion are impossible to evaluate. It all depends on his health. It’s a medical discussion more so than a basketball discussion.

As of now, my answer is “Hell no” because my assumption is that Zion will never complete a season healthy.

Not only that, Washington's tanking this year since they traded their pick unless it's bottom 8. That and half the team is still under 21.

Now, I agree he's a good fit with Sarr. If Queen gets sulky, maybe we will try to make a trade for him but considering what NO gave up, unlikely.

Zion doesn't have this type of trade value. It was reported earlier in the summer that he had no market.

Nobody is trading for Zion Williamson right now. Injury prone and is under investigation.The Pelicans are stuck with him,unless they decide to buyout his contract for some reason.

Strong disagree on both parts of the statement. Sarr was all-rookie 1st team, and deservedly so. For a 19 year old, he was a strong defender, and showed a lot of skills on offense. He just needs to improve the efficiency, but most young rookies do. If I were a betting man, I’d expect the remainder of his career to be better than the remainder of Zion’s, and he’s got the extra benefit of a rookie contract.

Nah. WAS front office seems to have a lot of faith in him; doubt they trade him for Zion. Zions pros and cons are clear to everyone.

If/when Zion is traded, it’s more likely to be to a team who already has a franchise guy and is hoping to buy low on Zion, rather than a team hoping to have him as their franchise guy.

Also, Sarrs rookie season wasn’t horrible; he put up 12 and 5. That’s better than a lot of comparable all star forwards’ rookie years (Jaren Jackson, Siakam for example).
