Dallas trade: Klay, Washington, Marshall
Dallas receive: Joe, Kuzma, better of LAC/HOU 2026 top 4 protected 1st, SAS 2027 top 16 protected 1st, 2026 swap rights w/ (worse of) NOP/MIL 1st
OKC trade: Joe, better of LAC/HOU 2026 top 4 protected 1st, SAS 2027 top 16 protected 1st
OKC receive: Washington
Milwaukee trade: Kuzma, 2026 swap rights
Miwaukee receive: Klay, Marshall
Why for Dallas: cash in Washington for some assets and get a cost controlled shooter long term
Why for OKC: push for a repeat
Why for Milwaukee: add a defensive SF and better shooter to compete w/ giannis

Not paying 2 first unless there’s an extension on the table. Even then not sure what OKC can afford.

Value is fair, Mavs shouldn't do it...
Bucks are in the east, that swap has low chance of conveying.
Joe is too small, he couldn't play for OKC in the PO despite their dire shooting straits, Kidd will bury him on the bench.

Heck to the no to taking on Kuzma. That guy is the epitome of a losing player on and off the court. Two meh picks isnt cashing in, its takes picks like that to have trade for Kuz.

Drop Milw
PWashington for Dieng/KWill and a pick-not sure which one
OKC should go for 75 wins next year. With Chet healthier, some growth from their young kids they could be unbeatable. PWashington provides perfect depth
Dallas resets a bit, adding a pick and Dieng to build for the future. KWill can help this year off the bench

That swap goes off LAC or just Dallas? Pretty big difference.
If it goes off LAC, I think Presti should do it with the worst of firsts versus the better of firsts... If it’s the better of the two, I assume that’s the only first on the table and the SAS first gets taken out.
I’d also probably just keep Klay in Dallas and send Joe to Milwaukee to add some value to Milwaukee since they’re getting the 27th-29th pick versus the 16th-20th (only estimates obviously?..) but if Milwaukee does it with Klay, that’s better for Dallas..
The issue I have is I don’t think Kuz is happy backing up Flagg. And you don’t bench Flagg for Kuz. And you don’t want an unhappy Kuz on the roster?
Feel like there needs to be another team involved or Dallas needs to know who they are trading Kuz for.

was thinking of a kuzma and minor value for derozan trade down the road...
i presume if LAC gets beal their 1st and houston 1st wont be too far apart.. i guess can be worse/doesnt matter since dallas can swap it with worse of NOP/MIL...

Yeah, I’d have Houston and LAC both as top 4 seeds probably.
But if Sengun or Harden get hurt, Presti should get to keep the upside pick of the two and maybe then adds the SAS first.
And if Sac does Demar for Kuz (even if Dallas has to add seconds) then yeah.. but Demar makes more than Kuz so figure it’s better to have that be part of the deal than wait for aggregation period and be stuck with Kuz.
But i don’t think Kuz is a winning player (no one does right?) so think Dallas would need to know the follow up.

Kuzma to backup AD. Basically, it's 90M at 4.

PJ is easily worth way more than taking Kuzma for picks and benchwarmers alongside Hardy.

This is the kind of stepback for assets move that two of our Mavs fans have been endorsing. I maintain Niko just isn't going to entertain this kind of thing even if he should.
Now if Dallas struggles as much as predicted, the deadline should be interesting...

You can't have Kuzma and let Lively walk. That's really bad asset management.
