HEAT
In:T.Harris
Out: Rozier/Jazquez
Bam/Ware
Harris/Jovic
Wiggins/Highsmith
Powell/Jakucionis
Herro/Mitchell
They balance and improve the squad, since the player who comes in is better than the one who leaves.
NETS
In: Rozier (Cut)/Robinson/SRP( Pistons)
Out:MPJ
They save many millions for the next season
PISTONS
In:MPJ/Jazquez
Out: Robinson/Harris/SRP
Duren/Stewart
MPJ/Holland
Thompson/Jazquez
Levert/Sasser
Cade/Ivey
You get a starting caliber 4, who fits better in the long run due to age and another young winger

Robinson can't be traded until December I think

As a Miami fan, I'm in. I don't know that Harris would start, or leave the second bench unit, but either way we could use the talent. And the price is right. At the same time, I don't see why Detroit gives up a pick to get a player that Denver just offloaded by giving up a pick.
And yeah, Robinson cannot be traded until december. What a terrible move this would be for him. He leaves the team that developed him for his entire career, help him get established, and goes to his hometown team who then trades him without ever even letting him play.

No thanks. MPJ is definitely not the answer.

I don't see the Pistons agreeing to this without a sizeable incentive to do so. Michael Porter Jr. is basically the same level player as Tobias Harris, while having a much more bloated contract.

Which 1st rounders would BK get?

MPJ is overpaid w the new CBA. He is also a big risk w injuries. Bad combination and not someone I want on my roster. He does not have positive value IMHO.

It's not you who should be getting a first.

Oh is Robinson, David Robinson?

Why does that matter? He's partially guaranteed and is imminently flippable. Good luck flipping MPJ, though. They had to attach an unprotected pick from what will likely be the post Jokic era just to get a similar player on a better contract. Now you think you can flip him again for expiring deals and get a pick? Come on, man...

The Nets just gave away their best player for him. Do you really think they are going to take Duncan Robinson and crapfaces for him?
COME ON. STOP TROLLING.

The Nets traded their best player for him AND an unprotected future pick. I think the Nets screwed up and could have gotten more (increased salary, slightly inferior player), but what’s done is done.
Deal with reality — MPJ on his current contract is not an asset. You want to move him, you’d be fortunate to get expirings.
In any case, Detroit’s not taking on that kind of salary for that kind of player. Enjoy the MPJ experience. I’m sure he’ll have some big games this year.

Oh, you miss my point. The nets shouldn't do this but it's not because you're owed value. It's that you'd have to pay to move off of him. You should be in at collecting mode

I do not think they would trade him right away (MPJ). If they did Marks would be trading for a better package. I think he might deal him at the deadline for a 1st and a player to a team that would need MPJ to compete in the playoffs.

Sorry dude, I don't see anyone giving a first to take on that contract. He's widely considered a bad contract.

I would rather have Tobias or Duncan Robinson than MPJ, in a vacuum, on Detroit's roster.

Regardless of whether MPJ has positive value, and I think it's debatable, if the Nets don't want to trade him for a bad return, he won't be traded for a bad return.

The Nets probably want to see what he does for a while. They need 2-3 vets to help get the new guys ready for the league. They likely want to keep Claxton, Sharpe, MPJ, and Thomas around for a bit to see who they want to keep for the upcoming new roster in 2026-27.

Well that's obvious. They should do everything in their power to feature him on offense so that some team desperate enough to be fooled by what will be his empty stats, believes that he's worth giving up assets for. It's just that right now isn't that time. No one will give up a pick for him unless a worse contract is taken.

Do those empty stats include the points he was able to score in the playoffs for the Nuggets? How about the number of rebounds he was able to secure?
It's hard to score and rebound in the playoffs and it's not like he just disappeared. I'm not convinced he has negative value.
