BOS/MIL/LAL - Simons/Niang/Kuz/Vandy/Vincent

LAL: Kuzma for Vanderbilt and Vincent
MIL: Simons and Niang for Kuzma
BOS: Vanderbilt and Vincent for Simons and Niang

Lakers consolidate and save a tiny bit of money this year and overall.
Bucks get scoring and Niang as a useful rotation guy.
Celtics save $12.8M and are a Vincent stretch away from the lux tax, if they don't accomplish it some other way.

Bucks could maybe throw in a secondary 2028 1st round swap option to BOS. Happens after the results of the existing swap.

Lakers werent willing to give DFS a 2 year guaranteed deal, they definitely dont want Kuzma on the books til his deal expires. I know Vando isnt expiring either, but its still a net 10ish mil on the books til 2026-27 in the different between their contracts.

Yep, Vando just has that extra year. But, if you're trying to do something different with space next summer (instead of another LeMax deal), I guess that could matter quite a bit.

Yea, ive no clue what Pelinka is thinking. The whole "preserve 2026/27" cap space plan makes no sense to me, just sign good players (like DFS) to reasonable deals and explore what you can get with the Kleber/Vincent expirings (ideally someone like Wiggins). Dont be so concerned about future cap space, just make your team as good and well rounded as possible and hope someone good forces their way over here. Be judicious on contracts you hand out and trading them for value shouldnt be a problem.

Vando deal is kinda biting the Lakers in the ass, but might as well hope he has a rebound year. Vincent has been useless and Kleber was basically deadweight useless money that DAL wanted to get rid of. How is Kuz doing in MIL anyway? Is he the starting 3, or will he be the first man off the bench big behind Giannis/Turner? I havent followed him in ages, but seen all sorts of derision on RealGM especially during his stint in WAS.

First paragraph is how I feel as well. Kuz, I don't think has been as good lately. Can't say I watched much WAS, but he had a pretty rough playoffs for MIL. It's a buy low scenario for assets you don't necessarily care about. Hope that being back on the Lakers will bring his skill to light more.

I believe it's legal since they are just both in the deal, but are not being aggregated to bring back a larger salary than either could alone.

Yeah I think it could be structured from the Boston side as two separate deals so could work.

This seems to make a fair bit of sense for all sides.
Kuzma is the worst contract ( lowest value asset here ) so maybe some compensation goes from Bucks to Lakers.

that's what i had in my mind. trade can happen only in case two separates trades are arranged, i don't know how it works here.
