Charlotte gets:
Kuminga (signed at 30m per year)
Utah gets:
Okogie (non-guarenteed) and 2029 1st (the one Charlotte got for Mark Williams)
GS gets:
Josh Green, Kevin Love, Nick Smith Jr, and 2027 Dallas 1st (top 2 protected).
Charlotte takes a swing on an upside player for a modest cost.
Utah gets a 1st round pick for free.
Golden State get a couple veterans for the playoff push and a middle 1st round pick next draft.

The hornets willing to trade two firsts AND pay Kuminga 30 million? Seems like they say no. Everybody else making out well

I mean a near unprotected pick GS gleefully says yes. Bad deal though for Charlotte though, yikes.

Gsw take this and run. No take backs

If the Dallas pick is too good, swap it for the Miami 1st, which is 1-14 protected. I figured the Dallas 1st will be around the 18th pick or something similar.
Take the 1st back from Utah and give them like 3 2nd round picks to balance things more. Also downgraded Kuminga from 30m to 25m

I don’t think GS takes this without a pick that has good upside - not because that’s what Kuminga’s worth, but because the relatively high opportunity cost of eating all that salary for what are basically deep bench guys (and the apron rules)

I kind of think they need to have another trade lined up to use the pick (and a top-4 protected GS 1st depending on the quality of the player added) to turn Green into someone playable (preferably a reserve PF/SF as there would really be no one there after JK is dealt.
Overall the value's pretty terrible for Charlotte as I don't see JK at $30M/yr as an asset at all.

Agree. I also fear Josh Green is the kind of guy Kerr would definitely overplay (untalented but tries really hard) to the detriment of the team

I don’t see why Charlotte does this. Kerr didn’t even have play Kuminga in the play in so hard to see how he is worth this kind of haul. I’d rather just start Miles than trade two firsts AND pay Kuminga 30 million a year.

I don’t think it would or should take to firsts to sign him.
1 maybe.

Can't Okogie just be waived by his option date in a few days? Seems to me Utah would only deserve a 2nd in this scenario.

Think if you trade him that guarantees his contract.

If they want it to count for salary matching, they have to guarantee it first. Otherwise it just counts as $0 and the guarantee date remains the same.

No thanks, I'd rather just ride with Miles and Grant at PF

Good point there

Kuminga has no value. No team should want to pay him $30 million a year, never mind give up assets for the privilege.

I like how op attached the picture, thinking most of us should start doing this too
As for the trade, seems ok.

From GS perspective, they may not get a better offer than this, probably not anyone else paying JK 30M (would Charlotte, really?) But I doubt they want to be hard-capped at the 1st Apron like this would do. It leaves them about 4.4M under with 12 players. I can see them playing the season out as a 1st Apron team with maybe a 2nd Apron hard-cap.

I'm not trading anything for Kuminga at $30M for 4 years.
I think I max out a 3/80 (with not a fully guaranteed final year), and I insist on Josh Green's contract being a part of the outgoing salary.
If the Warriors would take next year's [worst of ORL/MEM/PHX/WAS] 1st, Green, Conaughton, Salaun for Kuminga on a relatively short term deal, that's about the only way I'd be remotely interested
